LDSH jumps on buyout news, F decorated, RINO stumbles on suit

Ladish Co. Inc. (NasdaqGS: LDSH) increased 55.44 percent in price Wednesday to $45.59. Volume was 3,969,419 shares, easily trumping its daily average of 86,967. Wednesday,  Allegheny Technologies, a maker of specialty metals including titanium alloys, said it would pay $778 million in cash and stock to acquire Ladish of Cudahy, Wisconsin, which makes forged and cast parts for jet engines and other industrial applications.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) was a volume leader early Wednesday, dealing in 44,842,506 shares, compared to its three-month daily average of 76,199,500. The carmaker saw its stock price inch ahead 1.88 percent to $16.82. Ford said its 2011 Taurus, Super Duty and Mustang GT have earned Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com Best Resale Value Awards in the full-size car, full-size pickup and high-performance car categories, respectively

RINO International Company (NasdaqGS: RINO) fell in price in early trading Wednesday by 16.78 percent to $5.95. Volume was 3,421,180 shares, more than triple its three-month daily average. On Wednesday, RINO revealed it was the target of a lawsuit on behalf of investors who purchased the common stock of RINO International Corporation from March 31, 2009 to November 11, 2010.

Allied Irish Banks, PLC (NYSE: AIB) pumped stronger in price by 10.10 percent approaching midday in New York, to $1.14. Volume in this stock 3,451,782 shares, just shy of its three-month daily average of 4,945,550 shares.  Shares of Allied Irish picked up as speculation increases Ireland will get some sort of bailout from the European Union.

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) proved quite the active stock in Monday morning trading, exchanging 46,667,839 shares. Normal daily share volume is around 194,841,000. BAC shares gained 0.99 percent in price to $12.25. BAC said Monday 30-day- plus credit-card delinquencies fell to 5.60 percent in October from 5.71 percent in September. Write-offs rose to 10.15 percent from 9.99 percent on an annualized basis. The information was disclosed in a regulatory filing.

RINO International Corporation (NasdaqGS: RINO) listed downward 23.07 percent by midday Monday in New York to $8.47. Volume of 3,408,627 more than quadrupled its 3-month average for an entire day. The clean energy company reported net income was $8.8 million, or 31 cents a share, compared with $17.1 million, or 68 cents a share, last year. Revenue fell 17 percent to $52.1 million.

FTK shoots higher, S transmits volume, RINO wounded

Flotek Industries, Inc. (NYSE: FTK) gained 24.42 percent in price to $2.70. Volume in FTK stock Thursday was 3,166,940 shares, or nearly nine times its average. The Houston-based FTK manufactures and markets innovative specialty chemicals, downhole drilling and production equipment, and manages automated bulk material handling, loading and blending facilities. Wednesday, it announced Q3 revenues $40.0 million, an increase from $23.8 million in the third quarter of 2009. The Company posted a Q3 net loss attributable to common shareholders of$2.4 million, an improvement over $23.9 million in the third quarter of 2009.

Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE: S) did business amounting to 54,253,794 shares Thursday, compared to its daily average of 44,550,900. S added 1.9 percent in price to $4.01 as the final bell was getting ready to sound. Sources say Sprint and Clearwire (Nasdaq: CLWR) are arguing smart phone payments, S having initiated arbitration proceedings to resolve the dispute.

RINO International Corporation (NasdaqGS: RINO) took a price hit late Thursday, dropping 17.75 percent to $10.84. Volume in RINO was 5,808,674 shares, or nearly eight times the normal volume. The Chinese-based clean technology firm has set Monday as announcement date for its third-quarter financial results.
