PLL pulls good numbers, AMD active, CPF slides

Pall Corporation (NYSE: PLL) shares charged ahead 11.9 percent to $54.45, on volume of 4.5 million shares, six times its daily average, after an analyst said the looming retirement of the diversified U.S. manufacturer’s chief executive officer could set the stage for a sale of the company.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NYSE: AMD) was on a lot of radar screens Monday, dealing in 31.4 million shares, surpassing a daily volume of 22.7 million. Prices improved 5.1 percent to $7.87, on news from Intel Corp. that there was a design error in a component of the latter’s new chip that will cost the company roughly $300 million in lost revenue.

Central Pacific Financial Corp. (NYSE: CPF) shares were off 7.1 percent to $1.56 on volume of 406,896 shares, 33.3 percent better than its daily average. Friday, CFP announced it had trimmed its losses to $2.1 million, or 14 cents per diluted share, for the quarter ending Dec. 31.

TER takes off, NOK connected, MMI drops

Teradyne Inc. (NYSE: TER) shares soared 11.2 percent to $16.27. Volume for TER was 13.8 million shares, better by more than twice its 5.8-million average, after the maker of semiconductor-testing equipment said its fourth-quarter profit more than tripled and gave an upbeat first-quarter forecast.

Nokia Corporation (NYSE: NOK) traded in 41.8 million shares Thursday, more than doubling daily average. Share prices slid, however, 1.2 percent to $10.60, as the company reported a 16-percent drop in fourth-quarter profit and offered a weak outlook.

Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. (NYSE: MMI) shares dipped 11.7 percent to $30.70. Volume was 7.2 million shares, double its daily average, after the wireless-handset maker posted in-line fourth-quarter earnings but noted weaker-than-expected sales of some handsets.

TRBX in gear, GERS grows, JAVO down

TRB Systems International Inc. (OTCBB: TRBX) vaulted in price Monday afternoon by 96.7 percent to 2.95 cents. Volume for the stock was 50,000, just shy of its daily average of 56,031. TRBX was established to produce and market bicycle, fitness and motorized two-wheel transportation products.

Greenshift Corporation (OTCBB: GERS) traded in 461.8 million shares Monday, in contrast with a daily average of 62.6 million. Share prices doubled to two-100ths of a cent, after U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued a Notice of Allowance for GreenShift’s corn oil refining process.

Javo Beverage Company Inc (OTCBB: JAVO) sank in price 69.7 percent to 42-100ths of a cent Monday, on volume of 8.1 million shares, dwarfing its daily average of 446,709, on word the company was filing for Chapter 11.

ZBB zips along, PFE has healthy volume, ICGN downward

ZBB Energy Corporation (AMEX: ZBB) gained 14.8 percent Thursday to $1.24, on volume of 1,384,173 shares, more than four times its full-day average, after signing lucrative contracts in China.

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) dealt in 43,708,033 shares, to within a few aces of its full-day average of 45,414,700. Share prices were flat at $18.27

Icagen Inc. (Nasdaq: ICGN) dipped 17 percent to $2.44. Volume was 1,761,812 shares, four times its daily average.

HOMS gets lift, SLGLF active, GERS in red

Homeland Security Capital Corp. (OTCBB: HOMS) leaped 160 percent to 3.9 cents Thursday morning. Volume was 3.9 million shares, trumping a daily average of only 155,650. HOMS is an international provider of specialized technology-based radiological, nuclear, environmental, disaster relief, and security solutions to government and commercial customers.

Silverado Gold Mines Ltd. (OTCBB: SLGLF) traded in 18.7 million shares before midday Thursday, catching up to a full-day average of 19.3 million. Prices for the stock suffered, though, by 20.8 percent to 38-100ths of a cent. Vancouver-based SLGLF is an exploration-stage enterprise focused on the exploration of gold properties with some past production.

Greenshift Corp. (OTCBB: GERS) saw its share prices cut in half to one-100th of a cent. Volume for the stock was 1.2 million shares, way behind its daily average of 64.1 million.
