RBY soars, GE generates shares, BSDM falters

Rubicon Minerals Corporation (AMEX: RBY) gained 30.7 percent in price early Monday afternoon to $5.79. Volume just after noon was 7,349,954 shares, galloping past its three-month average share volume of 917,905. The Toronto-based miner provided a NI 43-101 compliant inferred mineral resource estimate for the F2 Gold System, part of its 100%-owned Phoenix Gold Project located in the heart of the prolific Red Lake Gold District of Ontario, an inferred resource of more than 6.2 million tonnes, at a grade of 20.1 grams per ton gold.

General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) was among late Monday noon hour’s volume leaders, trading in 27,132,962 shares, quickly nearing its three-month average share volume of 57,383,200. The electric behemoth was flat in price to $15.80. GE Healthcare announced today the 510k clearance of its next generation wireless, digital X-ray detector at the 96TH annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago.

BSD Medical Corp. (NasdaqGM: BSDM) fell in price early Monday afternoon by 12.86 percent to $4.88. Volume by noon was 1,453,585 shares, edging past its three-month average share volume of 1,208,060. BSDM announced today that it has filed its Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended August 31.

SAR leaps, GE steady, SSE fades

Saratoga Investment Corp. (NYSE: SAR) jumped in price 8.63 percent to $22.66. Volume in SAR was 48,333 shares, or more than 10 times its usual daily volume. The New York-based business development company today announced that its Board of Directors has declared a dividend of $4.40 per share payable on December 23, 2010 to common shareholders of record on November 19, 2010.

General Electric Corporation (NYSE: GE) was one of the main volume leaders Monday, trading in 39,121,632 shares, still well below its daily average of 59,528,300.  Even so, the giant trailed Friday’s close in price by 0.31 percent to $16.20.  GE Marine, a unit of GE Transportation, and the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) announced today the start of the commissioning of 13 tugboats for use in the Panama Canal. The 26-engine order represents the largest in the history of GE Marine.

Southern Connecticut Bancorp (AMEX: SSE) fell in price Monday, 34.52 percent to $4.06. Volume in SSE was 57,132, or about eight to nine times its average daily volume. The holding bank announced Friday it had entered into a Mutual Termination Agreement, related to the previously announced Agreement and Plan of Merger, dated as of February 22, 2010, as amended on September 17, 2010.

LNG has juice, GE has strong volume, CMT staggers

Cheniere Energy Inc. (AMEX: LNG) gained 0.44 percent in price to close Thursday afternoon at $4.57. Volume in LNG was 4,587,302, more than eight times its normal share volume in one day. The Houston-based LNG last Friday reported a net loss of $40.6 million, or $0.73 per share for the quarter ended September 30, 2010 compared with a net loss of $42.5 million, or $0.80 per share, for the comparable 2009 period.

General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) was among the market’s volume leaders Thursday, with 45,024,341 shares, even though that figure was lower than its three-month daily average of 60,065,800 shares. The company slid 1.21 percent in price to close trading Thursday at $16.35.  Thursday, the company announced plans to use 25,000 electric vehicles in its fleets by 2015.

Core Molding Technologies Inc. (AMEX: CMT) took a thumping in price Thursday, falling 15.77 percent to close at $4.38. Share volume was 49,557, trampling its daily average volume of 3,532. Columbus, Ohio-based CMT reported Q3 net income of $307,000 or $.04 per share, compared with net income of $849,000, or $0.13 per basic share, in the third quarter of 2009.

Vasomedical, Inc. (VASO) – Penny Stock of the Day

(OTCBB: VASO) were up as much as 86 percent on Monday after the company announced that its subsidiary was appointed the exclusive representative for select GE Healthcare Diagnostic Imaging products to specific market segments in the 48 contiguous states of the United States and District of Columbia received signed a sales representative agreement. GE Healthcare is the healthcare business unit of GE (NYSE: GE – News). The Company has already received financial commitments for up to $5 million to fund this project.
