GKK gallops, CSCO clicks, CPE swoons

Gramercy Capital Corp. (NYSE: GKK) vaulted 13.3 per cent to $4.68, on volume of 1.3 million shares, or better than twice its daily average. GKK is an integrated commercial real estate finance and property investment company.

Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) traded in 31 million shares, tracking down a daily average of 73.6 million. Share prices nosed up 0.7 percent to $22.19

Callon Petroleum Company (NYSE: CPE) stumbled 8.8 percent Monday to $8.38. Volume was 1.4 million shares, compared to a daily average of 454,170. Monday, CPE announced it intends to offer nine million of its common shares.

BEC gets bought, C sells, DEAR dives

Beckman Coulter Inc. (NYSE: BEC) shares gained 9.7 percent to $82.49, on volume of nearly 27 million shares, towering over its average of 1.3 million, after industrial company Danaher Corp. (NYSE: DHR) said it would buy the medical-diagnostics firm in a deal valued at about $6.8 billion. Danaher shares traveled higher 3.5 percent to $49.68.

Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C) was busy on the markets Monday, trading in 75 million shares, catching up on a daily average of 561 million. Share prices added 0.9 percent to $4.86. C announced that its Global Transaction Services has launched a new module within its TreasuryVision® portal that simplifies how companies manage internal lending relationships between their legal entities.

Dearborn Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: DEAR) lost 11 percent Monday to $1.54. Volume for the stock was 165,420 shares, leading its normal daily average of 116,091, after reporting Friday a quarterly loss of $2.4 million, still less than half its loss in the prior-year quarter.

CDNS higher, YHOO steady, AMP stumbles

Cadence Design Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CDNS) shares rose 7.5 percent to $9.49, on volumes of 10.4 million – more than quadruple its average — after the software maker forecast first-quarter earnings above expectations.

Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO) dealt in 24.1 million shares Thursday, topping its all-day average of 18.3 million. Prices for YHOO nipped up 1.7 percent to $16.85, after linking up with Zillow on a real-estate site.

Ameriprise Financial Inc. (NYSE: AMP) shares shed 7.1 percent to $58.07, amid volumes of 6.1 million shares, compared to an average of 1.8 million, after the asset manager’s fourth-quarter profit came in below expectations.

TSNI flourishes, ELCR in gear, XUN stumbles

TechniScan Inc. (OTCBB: TSNI) leaped 131.8 percent in price Thursday to 51 cents. Volume for the stock was 29,580 shares, compared to normal daily volume of 16,784. TSNI is a medical device company engaged in the research, development, and commercialization of an ultrasound breast imaging system.

Electric Car Company Inc. (OTCBB: ELCR) traded in nearly 80 million shares Thursday, compared to a usual daily average of 88.4 million. Share prices doubled to two-100ths of a cent

Xun Energy Inc. (OTCBB: XNRG) hurtled earthward 39.8 percent Thursday to 10 cents, on volume of 326,810 shares, more than doubling its usual volume of 134,849. XUN’s focus is to effect a merger, exchange of capital stock, asset acquisition or other similar business combination with an operating or development stage business.

NETL nails it, BAC busy, AFOP a flop

NetLogic Microsystems Inc. (Nasdaq: NETL) shares gained 10.2 percent to $39.90, on volumes of 1.9 million, ahead of its full-day average of 1.4 million, after the semiconductor maker projected first-quarter profit above Wall Street’s estimates.

Bank of America Corporation (NYSE: BAC) traded in 45.6 million Thursday, compared to an all-day average of nearly 200 million. Share prices gained 0.9 percent to $14.36.

Alliance Fiber Optic Products (Nasdaq: AFOP) dipped in price Thursday by 21 percent to $15.40. Volume was 556,841, or nearly four times its daily average, the day after announcing fourth quarter revenues of $11,638,000, a 55-percent increase from revenues of $7,517,000 reported in the fourth quarter of 2009.
