GENE jumps, BAC busy, COOL freezes

Genetic Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: GENE) vaulted 65.8 percent to $5.57 Wednesday. Volume of 538,264 shares trampled its full-day volume average of 17,027.

Bank of America Corporation (NYSE: BAC) was a volume leader Wednesday, trading in 99,658,930 shares, catching up on its full-day average of 217,463,000. Prices for the stock slid back 2.8 percent to $14.59, as lower prices for bank shares weighed on the markets.

Majesco Entertainment Company (Nasdaq: COOL) tanked 17.9 percent Wednesday to $1.15.  Volume for the stock was 1,426,060 shares, three times its normal daily volume. Tuesday, COOL reported quarterly net revenues decreased 2.2 percent to $23.4 million versus $23.9 million in the same period a year ago. During this same period, the Company reported an operating loss of $1.3 million, compared to an operating loss of $5.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2009.

CIMT catches fire, C trades widely, LNET eases off

Cimatron Limited (Nasdaq: CIMT) climbed 17.4 percent to $4.30 Wednesday. Volume of 238,432 shares very nearly quadrupled its full-day volume average, on word CIMT has signed a partnership and distribution agreement with Atometric Inc., a provider of CNC micro-machining centers and contract micro-machining solutions.

Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C) was a volume leader early Wednesday, trading in 249,690,475 shares, catching up on its full-day average of 554,789,000. Prices for the stock inched up 0.3 percent to $4.82., after Oppenheimer fixed an Outperform rating and $5.50 price target.

LodgeNet Interactive Corporation (Nasdaq: LNET) tanked 24 percent Wednesday to $3.13. Volume for the stock was 1,813,261 shares, seven times its normal daily volume. LNET is the leading provider of media and connectivity solutions designed to meet the unique needs of hospitality, healthcare and other guest-based businesses.

LDK jumps, JPM busy, DANG slides

LDK Solar Co, Inc. (NYSE: LDK) grew in price 10.7 percent to $13.40. Volume was a hefty 12,730,432 shares, more than twice its full-day volume average, on speculation that the recent buzz out of Germany about feed-in tariff cuts makes a hard cap on solar installations a lot less likely.

JP Morgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) was a volume leader Tuesday, trading in 40,111,730 shares, surpassing its full-day average of 38,489,000. Prices for the stock were flat at $44.78. This, amid word that Morgan wrongly foreclosed on 14 active-service military families and overcharged thousands more on their mortgages.

E-Commerce China Dangdang Inc. (NYSE: DANG) fell 8.5 percent to $31.00. Volume for the stock was 4,014,004 shares, just below its all-day average of 5,006,680. DANG is a leading business-to-consumer, or B2C, e-commerce company in China.

PSGY secure, APTD active, FMNL falters

Princeton Security Technology Inc. (OTCBB: PSGY) skyrocketed 180 percent in price Tuesday to 14 cents. Volume was 74,500 shares, better than nineteen times its usual average. Preliminary quarterly results show projected income of approximately $170,000, compared to loss of $162,217 for the same period ending December 31, 2009.

AlphaTrade.com (OTCBB: APTD) shares flew off the shelves Tuesday, trading in 123 million, compared with an average all-day volume of 12.2 million. Prices hiked, too, by 33.3 percent to eight-100ths of a cent. AlphaTrade is a recognized financial data providing company specializing in real-time financial market data for major North American exchanges and markets.

Forum National Investments Ltd. New (OTCBB: FMNL) tripped 55 percent to 18 cents Tuesday. Volume for the stocks was 36,250 shares, or six times its full-day average. FMNL provides travel services for the members of its ‘Snowbird Vacations International’ travel club.

ARIA leaps, BAC busy, HDY takes beating

Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: ARIA) prospered 30.5 percent in price to $6.85. Volume was 10,153,861, or six times its full-day volume average, amid generally positive news in the drug sector.

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) was an active trader Tuesday, dealing in 126,455,431 shares Thursday, compared to a full-day average of 228,170,000. Share prices were off, though, two percent to $14.95.

Hyperdynamics Corporation (AMEX: HDY) fell 16.9 percent Tuesday to $5.95. Volume for the stock was 7,220,720 shares, nearly five times its all-day average. Even so, experts point out that the shares are up more than an astonishing 500% over the past six months
