MCP jumps, GE busy, JTX stumbles

Molycorp. Inc. (NYSE: MCP) progressed 12.28 percent in price Monday afternoon to $35.12. Volume was 4,273,650 shares, once-and-a-half its normal daily average. Molycorp, Inc., the Western Hemisphere’s only producer of rare earths, announced that it has secured the last of several environmental permits necessary to begin construction of its new, state-of-the-art rare earth manufacturing facility at Mountain Pass, California.

General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) did a lot of business Monday, trading in 38,111,289 shares, zeroing in on its normal daily average of 58,764,900 shares. Prices for GE were flat at $17.65. GE today announced its intention to make an offer for 100% of Wellstream Holdings PLC, a leading engineer and manufacturer of high-quality flexible pipeline products for oil and gas transportation in the subsea production industry.

Jackson Hewitt Tax Services (NYSE: JTX) lost 11.56 percent in price to $1.30 just past noon ET on Monday. Volume was 2,000,705 shares, nearly triple its full-day average. Based in Parsippany, N.J., JTX. is an industry-leading provider of full service individual federal and state income tax preparation.

FONR moves up, S loud and clear, WNR skids

Fonar Corp. (NasdaqCM: FONR) jumped 35.25 percent in price Monday to $1.65. Volume was 833,668 shares, 10 times its normal daily average The Inventor of MR Scanning™, based out of Melville, N.Y., announced today that a provider of outpatient diagnostic services (a FONAR customer) and several Stand-Up MRI diagnostic imaging professional corporations (PCs) received a jury verdict in their favor in an anti-trust lawsuit against CareCore National, LLC, a radiology benefits management (RBM) company

Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE: S) did brisk trade Monday, trading in 35,606,742 shares, catching up on its normal daily average of 48,113,600. Prices for S surged 5.09 percent to $4.43. Last week, S announced that it has signed international 4G roaming agreements with Digicel in Jamaica and Global Mobile in Taiwan, leveraging the global ecosystem for 4G services to enable travelers on the go.

Western Refining Inc. (NYSE: WNR) dipped in price 11.11 percent to $9.44 approaching noon on Monday. Volume was 3,253,715 shares, nearly double its full-day average. WNR is an independent refining and marketing company headquartered in El Paso, Texas.

RES revved up, BAC solid, LCI wobbles

RPC Inc. (NYSE: RES) spiked 50.21 percent Monday to $21.11. Volume was 675,973 shares, just above pulling even with its normal daily average. The Atlanta-based RES provides a broad range of specialized oilfield services and equipment primarily to independent and major oilfield companies engaged in the exploration, production and development of oil and gas properties throughout the U.S.

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) took its place among the volume leaders mid-morning Monday, trading in 63,254,656 shares, compared to its normal daily average of 209,350,000. BAC’s price inched back 0.16 percent to $12.78. Bank of America Merrill Lynch today announced that it has launched electronic FX options trading capabilities for institutional and corporate clients.

Lannett Co. Inc. (AMEX: LCI) dipped in price 13.28 percent to $5.21 soon after Monday’s opening. Volume was 74,742 shares, compared to a full-day average of 51,394. LCI develops, manufactures, packages, markets and distributes generic pharmaceutical products for a wide range of indications.

SUIP surges, CMGR trades a lot, GNTP drops

Sunrise Mining Corp. (OTCBB: SUIP) rose 124.14 percent in price to 6.5 cents, on volume of about 27,000 shares, a fraction of daily volume of 47,350. The Company is a mining resource company that currently is working on identifying and developing projects in Asia.

Camelot Entertainment Group Inc. (OTCBB: CMGR) found its shares flew off the shelves late Thursday, trading in 456.26 million shares, leaving its normal volume of 132.35 million shares in the dust. CMGR announced Wednesday that it had entered into an agreement with Los Angeles based post-production house Lit Post for special effects and coloring work on the Camelot acquisition A WARRIOR’S HEART, a teen romantic-drama starring Twilight’s Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene.

Global Entertainment Corp. (OTCBB: GNTP) shed 64 percent of its price strength Thursday to nine cents. Volume of 265,570 shares overwhelmed its usual average of just over 10,000. The Arizona-based company has as its goal to build a worldwide entertainment organization with a multitude of domestic and foreign production affiliates.

NVLT vaults, MMTE mammoth trader, ISIM isn’t great

Novelos Therapeutics Inc. (OTCBB: NVLT) galloped ahead 70.45 percent in midday trading Thursday to 3.75 cents on 13.5 million shares, compared to a full-day average of 363,282. The Newton, Mass.-based biopharmaceutical company announced that today a poster highlighting positive results in a Phase 2 trial of NOV-002 in combination with neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment in patients with stage IIB-IIIC HER-2/neu negative invasive breast cancer is being presented at a symposium in Texas.

Mammoth Energy Group Inc. (Pink Sheets: MMTE) traded in 122.8 million shares Thursday, in contrast with a daily average of 20.49 million. Prices were flat at three-100ths of a cent. The New York-based lithium and alternative energy mining company, announced today that expected demand and sales growth for lithium ion batteries is expected to triple to $60 Billion in the next 10 years.

Insight Management Corp. (OTCBB: ISIM) trailed Wednesday’s close by 33.33 percent to eight-100ths of a cent Thursday. Volume was 33.82 million shares, or double its full-day average. The New York-based green construction company has completed the acquisition of Plant Acadia Growing, Inc., the parent company of Simpson Brothers Greenhouse, LLC, a retail greenhouse and wholesale farm supplier.
