CRMD healthy, F rolls off lot, PWAV subsides

CorMedix Inc. (AMEX: CRMD) boosted its price 18.31 percent to close Monday’s trading at $1.68. Volume for the stock was 85,819 shares, or about seven times its normal daily average. CRMD is a pharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing therapeutic products for the prevention and treatment of cardiorenal disease

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) traded in 52,625,749 shares, but still a whole lot less than its daily average of 84,557,800 shares. Share prices retreated 1.55 percent to $16.47. Ford said Monday it will begin construction on a new plant in Nanchang City, capital of east China’s Jiangxi Province, next year.

Powerwave Technologies Inc. (NasdaqGS: PWAV) backtracked 11.48 percent to close Monday at $2.39. Volume of 5,798,434 shares, more than tripled its full-day average. The company is a global leader in end-to-end wireless coverage and capacity solutions.

CRDC in gear, INTC busy trader, ENMD drops

Cardica Inc. (NasdaqGM: CRDC) rocketed up 23.49 percent mid-afternoon Monday to $3.47. Volume for the stock was 630,521 shares, or more than 10 times its normal daily average. CRDC designs and manufactures proprietary stapling and anastomotic devices for cardiac and endoscopic surgical procedures.

Intel Corp. (NasdaqGS: INTC) traded in 56,971,125 shares, closing in on Intel’s its normal daily average of 59,805,000. Prices for the chipmaker tailed off a bit, though, 1.87 percent to $21.50.

EntreMed Inc. (NasdaqCM: ENMD) moved earthward 7.35 percent to $5.04 on Monday afternoon. Volume was 206,151 shares, more than double its full-day average. ENMD, based in Rockville, Md., is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company developing therapeutics for the treatment of cancer

Allis-Chalmers Energy Inc. (NYSE: ALY) improved 9.63 percent in price Monday afternoon to $6.26. Volume was 633,498 shares, surmounting the stock’s normal daily average. ALY is a Houston-based multi-faceted oilfield services company

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) was awash in volume Monday afternoon, trading in 26,763,559 shares, pursuing its normal daily average of 43,073,400 shares. Prices for PFE were up 1.38 percent to $17.25. PFE announced Sunday that Prevenar 13* (Pneumococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine [13-valent, adsorbed]) was introduced into the first childhood immunization program for pneumococcal disease in the developing world under the auspices of the Advance Market Commitment when Nicaragua launched its program.

Youku.com (NYSE: YOKU) tumbled 10.88 percent to $33.42 on Monday. Volume was 5,522,513 shares, compared to its full-day average of 12,219,400. YOKU is a leading Chinese Internet television company.

RES revved up, BAC solid, LCI wobbles

RPC Inc. (NYSE: RES) spiked 50.21 percent Monday to $21.11. Volume was 675,973 shares, just above pulling even with its normal daily average. The Atlanta-based RES provides a broad range of specialized oilfield services and equipment primarily to independent and major oilfield companies engaged in the exploration, production and development of oil and gas properties throughout the U.S.

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) took its place among the volume leaders mid-morning Monday, trading in 63,254,656 shares, compared to its normal daily average of 209,350,000. BAC’s price inched back 0.16 percent to $12.78. Bank of America Merrill Lynch today announced that it has launched electronic FX options trading capabilities for institutional and corporate clients.

Lannett Co. Inc. (AMEX: LCI) dipped in price 13.28 percent to $5.21 soon after Monday’s opening. Volume was 74,742 shares, compared to a full-day average of 51,394. LCI develops, manufactures, packages, markets and distributes generic pharmaceutical products for a wide range of indications.

ROL rolls, C rocks, CYTK rocky

Rollins Inc. (NYSE: ROL) took on 54.44 percent Monday to come out of the starting blocks at $19.84. Volume was 75,263 shares, making headway on its normal daily average of 177,065. Atlanta-based Rollins is a premier North American consumer and commercial services company.

Citgroup Inc. (NYSE: C) proved among the volume leaders early Monday, trading in a brisk 130,924,832 shares, about a quarter its normal daily average of 530,261,000. Citigroup’s price inched up 0.21 percent to $4.78. CitiMortgage, Inc. has announced plans for an upcoming Mortgage Assistance Call-a-thon to take place from 7:00 AM December 15, 2010 until 1:00 AM on the morning of December 16, Eastern Standard Time. For the event, CitiMortgage (CMI) customers who have concerns about their ability to pay their mortgage can call into the company’s foreclosure prevention centers for information and advice.

Cytokinetics Inc. (NasdaqGM: CYTK) went south 19.45 percent to $2.36 soon after Monday’s opening. Volume for CYTK was 617,809, more than double its usual full-day volume. CYTK, based in San Francisco, announced the successful completion of its Phase IIa “Evidence of Effect” (EoE) clinical trial of CK-2017357 in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, during an oral presentation included in the Clinical Trials Session at the 21st International Symposium on ALS/MND in Orlando, Florida.
