CGEN boosted, GE busy, CERP slides

Compugen Ltd. (NasdaqCM: CGEN) prospered 16.32 percent in price Thursday to $4.49. Volume of 488,799 shares swamped its daily average of 76,429 shares. CGEN this week announced that administration of CGEN-15001 in an animal model of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) dramatically ameliorates the clinical symptoms of the disease. Cereplast Inc. (NasdaqCM: CERP) fell 10.46 percent Thursday to close at $3.51, on volume of 99,792 shares, better by a half than its daily average. CERP is a leading manufacturer of proprietary bio-based, compostable and sustainable plastics.

JADE sings, CGR sells, V sued

Claude Resources, Inc. (AMEX: CGR) blew its volume average out of the water Thursday, trading in 1,935,525 shares, quadrupling what it normally exchanges in a day. Share prices for CGR chugged ahead 17.42 percent to $2.09, after announcing positive results from sampling in excess of 22,000 metres of drill core from a total of 278 historic drill holes on the 13,900 hectare Amisk Gold Property in Manitoba.

Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) fell 12.63 percent Thursday to $67.22, on volume of 19,014,157 shares that quadrupled its daily average, on word of a lawsuit by the Canadian Competition Bureau.

WGO travels, LVS flexes muscle, CEU sued

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (NYSE: WGO) zoomed up 13.94 percent in price Thursday to $14.91. Volume of 1,661,360 shares triumphed over its full-day average of 285,609 shares. The motor home giant Thursday announced quarterly results. Revenues for the first quarter of Fiscal 2011 ended November 27, 2010 were $123.7 million, an increase of 52.7 percent, versus $81.0 million for the first quarter of Fiscal 2010. The Company reported an operating profit of $4.9 million for the quarter, versus an operating loss of $6.0 million for the first quarter of Fiscal 2010.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (NYSE: LVS) was a volume leader Thursday, trading in 41,953,024 shares, surpassing its full-day average shortly before 3 p.m. ET. LVS share prices gained 6.27 per cent, to $44.92. LVS said Thursday it expects Vegas group room-rates to rise at least 10% by 2012.

China Education Alliance, Inc. (NYSE: CEU) gave back 7.57 percent Thursday to $2.32, on volume of 335,933 shares were about half its full day average of 620,807. The drop comes amid news that a class action securities fraud lawsuit has been filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California on behalf of purchasers of CEU common stock between March 31, 2009 and November 29, 2010

CWS springs higher, MOT active, KONE sinks

China Wind Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CWS) gained 17.99 percent in price Thursday to $3.41. Volume of 236,605 shares trampled its full-day average of 77,302. Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) traded Thursday in 55,247,292 shares, nearly doubling its full-day average. MOT share prices gained 5.19 per cent, to $8.91. Nokia Siemens Networks on Wednesday won approval from the European Union (EU) to buy the U.S. -based Motorola Network Business.

Kingtone Wirelessinfo Solution Holding Ltd (NasdaqCM: KONE) reversed 9.79 percent Thursday to $3.41. Volume of 211,373 shares more than doubled its full day average. KONE is a leading China-based software and solutions developer focused on wirelessly enabling businesses and government agencies.

OCZ takes off, BAC busy, RGS misfires

OCZ Technology Group Inc (NasdaqCM: OCZ) gained 16.55 percent in price Thursday to $4.79. Volume of 3,360,842 shares trampled its full-day average of 187,183. San Jose-based OCZ, a leading provider of high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) and memory modules for computing devices and systems, today announced that certain shareholders of OCZ Technology Group, Inc. have signed definitive agreements with various institutional and accredited investors for the sale of OCZ common stock. OCZ will not receive any of the proceeds of such sale.

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) traded Thursday in 135,742,489 shares, catching up on its daily average of 211,203,000. BAC share prices gained 3.13 per cent, to $12.68.

Regis Corp. (NYSE: RGS) reversed 10.31 percent Thursday to $16.44. Volume of 3,063,146 shares more than tripled its full day average. RGS is the global leader in the $150-$170-billion hair care industry.
