EK in picture, C rumbles, CBEH wobbles

Eastman Kodak Co. (NYSE: EK) shares rallied 10.9% to $3.77. Volume of nearly 39 million shares during the morning proved nearly quadruple its full-day average. The U.S. International Trade Commission said Friday it will review a patent decision that went against Kodak in January.

Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C) dealt in nearly 78 million shares early Monday, rapidly gaining on a full-day average of 487.2 million. Share prices for C, however, stumbled 0.8% to $4.43, amid word of a drop in short interest for Citi and Bank of America.

China Integrated Energy Inc. (Nasdaq: CBEH) share prices trailed Friday’s close by 24.6% to $2.83, on volume of 3.8 million shares, dwarfing its all-day average of 853,489.

PSTR rocks, F rolls, CNIT hobbles

PostRock Energy Corp (Nasdaq: PSTR) shares rose 19.6% to $5.98. Volume for the stock was 258,000, better than twice its daily volume. The company was identified Wednesday by Zacks Investment Research as having the lowest forward price-to-earnings ratio of companies in the energy exploration industry.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) traded in 106.7 million shares, topping its all-day average of 87.1 million. Share prices for F climbed 5.2% to $15.05

China Information Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: CNIT) shares got bruised 13.8% to $2.69, on volume of 2.3 million, or eight times its average

Hats off to RHT, C busy, FUL empty

Red Hat Inc. (NYSE: RHT) shares rose 16.6% to $46.59 Thursday. Share volume was six million in the first trading hour, or triple its daily average, a day after the software company reported fourth-quarter revenue that beat forecasts.

Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C) shares were selling to the tune of 83.6 million Thursday, catching up on a full-day average of 486.9 million. Share prices for C dipped 0.3% to $4.39, after announcing it might invest up to $4 billion in consumer businesses next year.

H.B. Fuller Co. (NYSE: FUL) shares fell 3.4% to $20.31, on volume of 251,759 (compared to a full-day average of 337, 240), a day after the manufacturer of adhesives and paints reported a first-quarter profit that missed expectations.

AUMN awesome, F rolls along, NCT sheds

Golden Minerals Company (AMEX: AUMN) zoomed ahead 24.9% Wednesday to $22.98. Volume for the stock was 206,435 shares, or two-and-a-half times its normal daily volume, amid general buying of gold shares.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) traded in 52.6 million shares, compared with a daily average of 86.6 million. Share prices were up 0.2% late in the session to $14.37.

Newcastle Investment Corp. (NYSE: NCT) shares shed 9.3% to $6.05 after the real-estate investment trust said it would sell 15 million shares. Volume was two million shares, compared to a daily average of 815,000.


JBL has jump, BAC backtracks, KFS get crowned

Jabil Circuit Inc. (NYSE: JBL) shares gained 10.9% to $20.99, on 9.1 million shares, or triple its full-day average, a day after the manufacturer of electronic parts projected third-quarter results that beat analysts’ estimates.

Bank of America Corporation (NYSE: BAC) traded in 110.6 million shares Wednesday, catching up rapidly on a daily average of 172.3 million. Share prices, though, demurred 2.5% to $13.53, after the Federal Reserve put a halt on BAC’s proposed dividend hike for this year.

Kingsway Financial Services Inc. (NYSE: KFS) took a drubbing in early Wednesday trading, falling 15.7% to 91 cents, on volume of 148,079, more than double its daily average. This, after announcing its fourth-quarter shareholder equity was likely to fall.
