TWX paces market, NVDA prominent, IVAC skids

Time Warner Inc. (NYSE: TWX) shares gained 8.6 percent to $35.09, on volume of 20.4 million shares, or triple its daily average, after the media company raised its dividend and reported stronger results.

Nvidia Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) traded in 32.2 million shares, trumping its daily average of 23.1 million. Prices for NVDA raced ahead 5.3 percent to $25.77.

Intevac Inc. (Nasdaq: IVAC) shares were off 8.9 percent to $12.65, on volume of 825,000, overwhelming a daily average of 101,000, after the manufacturing-equipment maker reported fourth-quarter and full-year revenue below estimates.

NVDA steps on gas, CSCO sizzles, REDF slides

Nvidia Corp. (Nasdaq: NVDA) shares added 12.1% to $24.90, after Barron’s said the chip maker’s stock might rise as much as 80% in the next year. Volume for NVDA was 29.1 million shares, better than its daily average of 22.3 million.

Cisco Systems Inc, (Nasdaq: CSCO) dealt in 25 million shares Monday, making headway against its full-day average of 72 million. Share prices moved higher 1.7 percent to $21.08, on word of its price target being raised at Barclays to $24 from $22.

Rediff.com India Limited (Nasdaq: REDF) dropped 8.4 percent to $7.39 Monday. Volume for the stock was 806,955 shares, just now nosing out its daily average. The Mumbai-based REDF is one of the premier worldwide online providers of news, information, communication, entertainment, mobile and shopping services.

CRMD takes wing, NVDA dizzy, RFMI turfs

CorMedix Inc. (AMEX: CRMD) shares gained 20.5% to $2.14 Wednesday. Volume of 157,948 proved nine times its full-day average. CRMD is a pharmaceutical company that seeks to in-license, develop and commercialize therapeutic products for the prevention and treatment of cardiac and renal dysfunction.

NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) traded in 57,205,492 shares Wednesday, nearly tripling its daily average. Prices for NVDA leapt 12.5 percent to $22.85. The chip maker’s stock is now up more than 100% over the past three months amid upbeat analyst reviews of its recent initiatives, particularly in the tablet and smart phone markets.

RF Monolithics, Inc. (Nasdaq: RFMI) fell 5.7 percent Wednesday to $1.82 Volume for the stock was 252,129 shares or more than eight times its daily average. Tuesday, the Dallas-based RFMI reported quarterly net income of $160,000 or $0.01 per share.

VRX jumps, NVDA busy, REE falls

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International (NYSE: VRX) grew 16 percent in price Thursday to $34.75. Volume of 13,353,461 shares nearly quadrupled normal volume. Canada-based VRX is a multinational specialty pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of pharmaceutical products primarily in the areas of neurology, dermatology and branded generics.

NVIDIA Corp. (Nasdaq: NVDA) did lots of business late Thursday, with 68,704,486 shares traded, four times its daily average. Prices for the stock gained 11.7 percent to $18.97. NVIDIA today announced the expansion of its NVIDIA® 3D Vision™ ecosystem with the addition of new 3D-enabled PCs and monitors by Lenovo.

Rare Element Resources Ltd. (AMEX: REE) fell 13.7 percent in Thursday trading to $13.85. Volume for the stock was 9,941,563 shares, nearly doubling its daily average. REE announced final 2010 assay results from seven additional rotary (reverse circulation) holes drilled on the Sundance Gold Project, Wyoming.
