ICGN up, MU down, XRS schooled

Icagen Inc. (Nasdaq: ICGN) shares jumped 16.8 percent to $3.06 Wednesday, on volume of 1.1 million shares, better than double its daily average. Last week, the company was upgraded MLV Capital from “hold” to “upgrade”.

Micron Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MU) bought and sold 26.7 million shares, just shy of its daily average of 33.9 million. Share prices inched up 0.4 percent to $10.01, on word of a downgrade from “neutral” to “negative” Tuesday by Avian.

TAL Education Group (NYSE: XRS) shares lost 6.7 percent to $12.17 Wednesday, on volume of 1.0 million shares, more than five times its daily average. The after-school tutoring services company reported a 47.7-percent increase in revenue, to $24.1 million in the quarter, as total student enrollment grew 25 percent .

NVGN leaps, MU active, MCOX in doldrums

Novogen Limited (Nasdaq: NVGN) shares accelerated 41.1 percent to $1.58, on 1.8 million shares, overwhelming a daily average of 42,778. Australia-based NVGN has a consumer healthcare business, providing research and development services to its 71.3-per-cent-owned subsidiary, Marshall Edwards, Inc.

Micron Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MU) dealt in 48 million shares Monday, more than 50 percent better than its full-day average of 32.3 million. Share prices improved 1.9 percent to $10.02. Over the past 12 months, Micron Technology generated $2,483 million cash on net income of $1,801 million.

Mecox Lane Limited (Nasdaq: MCOX) sagged 9.6 percent to $5.56 Monday. Volume for the stock was 335,728 shares, rearing behind its daily average of 823,049, as the days wound down toward the deadline for plaintiff action in its upcoming lawsuit.

BIOD, MU climb, YMI stalls

The company is expected to issue a corporate update today, to include detailed information about the development of follow-on formulations of its lead product Linjeta.

Micron Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MU) traded in 44,726,493 shares Thursday, better by half its daily average. Prices for MU were up by 4.34 percent to $9.74, after a Baird analyst upgraded the memory chip maker citing stabilizing prices and a strong outlook for NAND flash memory chips.

YMI BioSciences Inc. (AMEX: YMI) fell 16.3 percent Thursday to $2.21 Volume for the stock was 836,963 shares, better than twice its full-day average. The Canadian-based YMI is a drug development company advancing three clinical-stage products.

CRIS incredible, MU moves shares, THOR loses ground

Curis Inc. (Nasdaq: CRIS) shares gained 20.2% to $2.74 Wednesday. Volume of 1,361,514 proved four times its full-day average. The Mass.-based CRIS is a drug development company seeking to develop next generation targeted small molecule drug candidates for cancer treatment.

Micron Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MU) traded in 53,997,533 shares Wednesday, nearly doubling its daily average of 30,541,700. Prices for MU were up 7.1 to $9.34.

Thoratec Corporatino (Nasdaq: THOR) fell 7.4 percent Wednesday to $28.81. Volume for the stock was 4,263,232 shares or three times its daily average. THOR is a world leader in device-based mechanical circulatory support therapies to save, support and restore failing hearts.

BBX takes flight, MU solid, ACUR drubbed
