CELL rings, INTC trades widely, ICGN takes breather

Brightpoint Inc. (Nasdaq: CELL) shares moved north 32 percent Thursday to $12.57, on volumes of nearly three million, six times its full-day average, a day after presenting Q4 earnings that beat Street estimates.

Intel Inc. (Nasdaq: INTC) traded in 27.3 million shares Thursday, trailing its all-day average of 55.5 million. Shares for the chipmaker nosed ahead 0.6 percent to $21.50.

Icagen Inc. (Nasdaq: ICGN) got thumped 12.6 percent in price to $3.25 Thursday. Volume was 809,218, besting its daily average of 563,036, after the FDA lifted its hold on ICGN’s epilepsy drug.

DSCI ascends, MSFT steady, TZOO mauled

Derma Sciences Inc. (Nasdaq: DSCI) shares traveled 39.3 percent Thursday to $9.29 Thursday, on volumes of 494,316, compared to its full-day average of around 27,000, after learning its diabetic foot-wound drug met their mid-stage trial goal.

Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT) bought and sold 34.3 million Thursday, trailing its all-day average of 59.4 million. Share prices dipped back 1.1 percent to $27.63, after announcing MSFT may use a sale of debt products to reward shareholders.

Travelzoo Inc. (Nasdaq: TZOO) fell in price 15.6 percent to $44.52 Thursday. Volume was 1.3 million compared to a daily average of 281,000, after announcing quarterly EPS of 23 cents, compared to nine cents in the prior-year quarter.

TSNI flourishes, ELCR in gear, XUN stumbles

TechniScan Inc. (OTCBB: TSNI) leaped 131.8 percent in price Thursday to 51 cents. Volume for the stock was 29,580 shares, compared to normal daily volume of 16,784. TSNI is a medical device company engaged in the research, development, and commercialization of an ultrasound breast imaging system.

Electric Car Company Inc. (OTCBB: ELCR) traded in nearly 80 million shares Thursday, compared to a usual daily average of 88.4 million. Share prices doubled to two-100ths of a cent

Xun Energy Inc. (OTCBB: XNRG) hurtled earthward 39.8 percent Thursday to 10 cents, on volume of 326,810 shares, more than doubling its usual volume of 134,849. XUN’s focus is to effect a merger, exchange of capital stock, asset acquisition or other similar business combination with an operating or development stage business.

HNSN flies, SIRI trades, ANW sinks

Hansen Medical Inc. (Nasdaq: HNSN) shares rocketed up 43.7 percent to $2.27, on volumes of 8.9 million, thundering ahead of its full-day average of 465,000, after Philips acquired the rights to market the company’s technology.

Sirius XM Radio Inc. (Nasdaq: SIRI) traded in 51.2 million Thursday, catching an all-day average of 52.3 million. Share prices gained 3.1 percent to $1.77.

Aegean Marine Petroleum Network (NYSE: ANW) slid in price Thursday by 18.5 percent to $8.88. Volume was 3.7 million or nearly four times its daily average, after announcing fourth quarter financials.

Zanett Inc. (Nasdaq: ZANE) shares zoomed 28.8 percent to $1.52. Volume for the stock was 1.6 million, overwhelming a daily average of nearly 54,000, after after announcing Parkview Health will implement its Zanett Clinical Online Delivery System.

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) traded in 69.8 million shares, outdistancing its daily average of 46.5 million. Prices for PFE sagged 0.2 percent to $18.98, over word that laid-off PFE employees will get less severance than anticipated.

Hawaiian Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: HA) shares were off 8.4 percent to $6.99. Volume for the stock was 3.2 million, dwarfing a daily average of 403,000 after Stifel Nicolaus downgraded the parent company of Hawaiian Airlines from buy to hold.
