ACAD climbs, F hiring, INUV suffers

ACADIA Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: ACAD) shares gained 34.8% to $1.55 Monday. Volume of 8,207,414 shares proved 12 times its usual volume of 674,665, after ACAD entered into an agreement, to fund its research into Parkinson’s disease.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) was a volume leader Monday, trading in 38,100,313 shares, nearly half its daily average of 82,773,700. Prices for F nipped up 0.9 percent to $18.43. The car maker Monday announced that it planned to hire more than 7,000 workers in the next two years.

Inuvo, Inc (Amex: INUV) got bruised 20.5 percent by noon ET Monday to $4.03. Volume for the stock was 153,338 shares, already surpassing its daily average of 131,311 shares. INUV announced today that revenue for the quarter ended December 31, 2010 would be approximately $14 million. This represents a 46% increase over the $9.6 million of revenue in the same quarter of 2009 and is slightly lower than the third quarter of 2010.

DQ gains, F deals, RES takes header

DAQQ New Energy Corp. (NYSE: DQ) shot 19.4 percent in price Thursday to $13.46. Volume was 1,361,295 shares, nearly triple normal volume. DQ a leading polysilicon manufacturer based in China that aims to become a vertically integrated photovoltaic product manufacturer.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) was a volume leader late Thursday, with 75,257,554 shares traded, just shy of its daily average of 82,335,800. Prices for the car maker’s stock gained 1.7 percent to $18.20, amid word F was closing in on Toyota’s number-one position in U.S. sales.

RPC Inc. (NYSE: RES) tottered 11.2 percent in Thursday trading to $16.35. Volume for the stock was 1,884,038 shares, besting its daily average by more than 50 percent. RPC provides a broad range of specialized oilfield services and equipment primarily to independent and major oilfield companies.

MAG magnificent, F strong, WSCI slips

Magnetek Inc. (NYSE: MAG) shot ahead 13.7 percent in price Wednesday to $1.58. Volume of 381,794 shares proved more than five times its all-day average. The company is a leading provider of digital power and motion control systems.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) traded in 80,027,294 shares, to within spitting distance of its daily average. Prices for the stock gained 3 percent to $17.90. The car maker yesterday reported 2010 sales figures of 1.935 million units, up 19 percent from 2009.

WSI Industries Inc. (Nasdaq: WSCI) dropped 22.1 percent Wednesday to $5.10, on volume of 49,764 shares, eclipsing its full-day average of 30,152. Wednesday, the Company  reported quarterly sales of $5,528,000, a 29.9% increase versus the prior year amount of $4,254,000. Net income was $69,000 versus $163,000 in the prior year first quarter.

JTX bounces, F trades, NBG slumps

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. (NYSE: JTX) gained 13.57 percent in price Monday to $1.59. Volume of 3,350,769 shares more than quadrupled its full-day average. Based in Parsippany, N.J., JTX is an industry-leading provider of full service individual federal and state income tax preparation.

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) traded in 27,160,761 shares, making it a volume leader, but still well below its daily average of 83,535,700. Share prices for the car maker moved up a mere 0.54 percent to $16.89. Ford said Monday U.S. auto sales in December are running at a 12-million unit annual rate, and it forecast sales to rise to almost 13 million next year.

National Bank of Greece SA Spon (NYSE: NBG.PA) gave back 5.55 percent in price Monday to $17.01, on volume of 165,026 shares.

SKH flies, F revamps, INUV falls short

Skilled Healthcare Group, Inc. (NYSE: SKH) gained 13.14 percent in price Wednesday to $7.92. Volume of 832,604 shares doubled its daily average. SKH based in Foothill Ranch, California, is a holding company with subsidiary healthcare services companies.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) traded Wednesday in 44,739,430 shares, which, while making it a volume leader, fell short of its daily average of 84,900,700. Share prices stepped forward 0.79 per cent, to $16.55. Ford announced Wednesday its Michigan Assembly Plant has completed a $550-million transformation that makes it the world’s first factory to build not only fuel-efficient gas-powered cars, but also three electrified vehicles including battery electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid.

Inuvo, Inc. (AMEX: INUV) surrendered 16.86 percent Wednesday to close at $4.98. Volume of 41,570 shares compared unfavorably to its daily average of 149,185. INUV is leading provider of online marketing services.
