CXZ travels, JPM trades, JTX taxed

Crosshair Exploration & Mining Corp. (AMEX: CXZ) vaulted 29.14 percent in price Wednesday to $2.26. Volume of 1,673,267 shares was six times its daily average. Crosshair is a prominent player in the exploration and development of uranium, vanadium and gold in the U.S. and Canada.

JP Morgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) traded in 29,365,591 shares Wednesday, approaching its daily average of 38,702,900. Share prices gained 2.71 percent to $42.11.

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. (NYSE: JTX) fell 9.54 percent in price Wednesday to $1.75, on volume of 1,708,936 shares, nearly twice its full-day average. Based in Parsippany, N.J., JTX is an industry leading provider of full service individual federal and state income tax preparation.

LEGC shakes a leg, C active, CAK backtracks

Legacy Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: LEGC) added 42.21 percent in price Wednesday to $12.23. Volume of 140,153 shares towered over its daily average of 5,931. The Pittsfield, Mass., bank-holding company will acquired by Berkshire Hills Bancorp Inc. for $13 a share in stock and cash.

Citgroup Inc. (NYSE: C) traded in 146,817,000 shares, making it a volume leader as it made progress against its daily average of 554,823,000. Share prices slid 0.74% to $4.70.

CAMAC Energy Inc. (Amex: CAK) gave back 24.24 percent in price Wednesday to $2.00, on volume of 2,872,639 shares, nearly six times its full-day average. The energy firm entered into definitive agreements yesterday to sell in a registered direct offering an aggregate of approximately 9.09 million shares of its common stock at a price of $2.20 per share.

WSP goes skyward , BAC active, MGIC heads south

WSP Holdings Limited (NYSE: WH) moved higher 33.65 percent in price Monday to $1.39. Volume of 2,025,559 shares proved about 20 times its full-day average, as the Chinese drilling pipe manufacturer said its subsidiary received about $91.8 million in new orders.

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) was a volume leader Monday, trading in 61,883,919 shares, making progress against its daily average of 214,418,000. Share prices for BAC inched 0.84 percent up to $12.68. AEGON USA Realty Advisors, LLC and Bank of America Merrill Lynch today announced that they have entered into a formal agreement in which BofA Merrill Lynch will utilize AEGON’s commercial real estate lending expertise and significant industry relationships to source new lending opportunities.

Magic Software Enterprises Ltd. (Nasdaq: MGIC) took a header in price, 11.80 percent Monday to $6.74, on volume of 1,908,951 shares, or more than triple its full-day average. The Israeli global provider of cloud and on-premise enabled application platform and business integration solutions today announced that it entered into definitive agreements, to sell securities to institutional investors in a private placement for aggregate gross proceeds of approximately $21.2 million.

CBSO skyrockets, CGFIA sells widely, HSYT bruised

CommunitySouth Financial Corp. (OTCBB: CBSO) watched its stock travel to the stratosphere, gaining 200 percent to 15 cents shortly before Thursday’s closing. Volume was 31,030 shares, overwhelming its usual share volume of 4,969. The Easley, S.C.-based CBSO is the parent company of CommunitySouth Bank & Trust.

Colorado Goldfields Inc. (OTCBB: CGFIA) saw its shares fly off the shelves Thursday, trading in 292.88 million shares, compared to a daily average of 59.16 million. Share prices scaled back 50 percent, however, to one-10th of a cent. CGFIA is a Denver-based junior exploration and mining company primarily exploring for gold and silver.

Home System Group (OTCBB: HSYT) dipped 55 percent to $1.26 Thursday, on volume of 16,380 shares, compared to usual volume of 1,981. HSYT is a Chinese – based manufacturer of a variety of household appliances sold by large retailers.

JADE sings, CGR sells, V sued

LJ International Inc. (NasdaqGM: JADE) prospered 13.88 percent in price Thursday to $4.02. Volume of 942,250 shares nosed out its full-day average of 643,849 shares. The Hong Kong-based JADE is engaged in the designing, branding, marketing and distribution of a full range of jewelry

Claude Resources, Inc. (AMEX: CGR) blew its volume average out of the water Thursday, trading in 1,935,525 shares, quadrupling what it normally exchanges in a day. Share prices for CGR chugged ahead 17.42 percent to $2.09, after announcing positive results from sampling in excess of 22,000 metres of drill core from a total of 278 historic drill holes on the 13,900 hectare Amisk Gold Property in Manitoba.

Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) fell 12.63 percent Thursday to $67.22, on volume of 19,014,157 shares that quadrupled its daily average, on word of a lawsuit by the Canadian Competition Bureau.
