MSHL marches, CSCO deals, GTIMD down

Marshsall Edwards Inc. (Nasdaq: MSHL) shares spiked 21.8 percent to $2.63, on volume of 114,403 shares, tripling its daily average.

Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) was among the volume leaders Wednesday, trading in 46.2 million shares compared to a daily average of 72.8 million. Share prices shaved off 0.6 percent to $21.41.

Good Times Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: GTIMD) shares jettisoned 34.3 percent to $3.11 Wednesday, on volume of 186,771 shares, compared to a daily average of 5,000. The Colorado-based restaurant chain said December was its fifth consecutive month of same-store sales increases. It said that same-store sales were up 13.4 percent in the just-completed first quarter of fiscal 2011 from a year earlier.

NVDA steps on gas, CSCO sizzles, REDF slides

Nvidia Corp. (Nasdaq: NVDA) shares added 12.1% to $24.90, after Barron’s said the chip maker’s stock might rise as much as 80% in the next year. Volume for NVDA was 29.1 million shares, better than its daily average of 22.3 million.

Cisco Systems Inc, (Nasdaq: CSCO) dealt in 25 million shares Monday, making headway against its full-day average of 72 million. Share prices moved higher 1.7 percent to $21.08, on word of its price target being raised at Barclays to $24 from $22.

Rediff.com India Limited (Nasdaq: REDF) dropped 8.4 percent to $7.39 Monday. Volume for the stock was 806,955 shares, just now nosing out its daily average. The Mumbai-based REDF is one of the premier worldwide online providers of news, information, communication, entertainment, mobile and shopping services.

CT gallops, CSCO active, KUN mum

Capital Trust Inc. (NYSE: CT) improved 16.8 percent Thursday to $2.16 Volume of 329,904 shares bested its full-day average of 138,500. CT is a real estate finance and investment management company that specializes in credit sensitive structured financial products.

Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) dealt in 44,648,109 shares, short of its full-day average of 69,622,200. Share prices were flat at $20.84.

China Shenghuo Pharmaceutical (AMEX: KUN) dipped 21.6 percent to $1.38. Volume was 262,948 shares, four times its daily average. When approached to comment on this unusual market activity, KUN told reporters that is not its policy to discuss activity.

OPXA pops, CSCO does business, MTG slumps

Opexa Therapeutics Inc. (Nasdaq: OPXA) saw its price pop 18.1 percent to $2.48 Wednesday afternoon. Volume of 1,738,310 shares overwhelmed a full-day volume average of 269,989. OPXA is preparing to start a Phase 3 clinical study of its Tovaxin drug candidate for multiple sclerosis

Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) traded Wednesday in 33,840,714 shares, only about half its full-day average. Prices for CSCO fell 1.9 percent to $20.82. CSCO announced Wednesday it will bring its fancy videoconference systems for teaching to several universities in Colorado, giving students at some remote, rural schools access to more classes.

MGIC Investment Corporation (NYSE: MTG) listed lower by 18.8 percent Wednesday to $9.46. Volume was 16,430,897 shares, four times its normal daily volume, on word that higher claims paid out last year hurt the company’s bottom line.

GSL grows, CSCO trades, PEIX plummets

Global Ship Lease, Inc. (NYSE: GSL) grew 14.1 percent in price Thursday to $5.75. Volume of 1,242,177 shares proved better than five times its normal daily volume. GSL is a London-based a containership charter owner.

Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) traded in 54,783,485 shares by late afternoon Thursday. While this put CSCO among the volume leaders, it was still below its daily average of 71,315,200. Prices for the stock gained 0.8 percent to $20.95. Verizon Wireless and Cisco today announced Verizon Wireless will be the first service provider to deliver a fourth-generation (4G) wireless version of Cisco Cius™, a purpose-built, mobile collaboration business tablet that will be available in Spring 2011.

Pacific Ethanol Inc. (Nasdaq: PEIX) fell 11.8 percent in Thursday trading to 91.69 cents. Volume for the stock was 6,410,502 shares, nearly triple its daily average. PEIX is leading West Coast marketer and producer of low-carbon renewable fuels.
