SUIP rises, PSPW sets, NUBL mobile

Sunrise Mining Corp. (OTCBB: SUIP) leaped ahead 68.2 percent in mid-Wednesday trading to 4.34 cents. Volume for the stock was 34,490 shares showed momentum toward its all-day average of 14,154. The Company is a mining resource company that currently is working to identify and develop some projects in Asia.

Prime Sun Power Inc. (OTCBB: PSPW) saw its shares halved by midday Wednesday to 10 cents, on volume of 27,000, in contrast to an all-day average of 63,693 shares. PSPW is a development stage company, which plans to provide solar power, wind power and other renewable energies.

Numobile Inc. (OTCBB: NUBL) traded in 91.4 million shares Wednesday, trampling over an all-day average of 10.2 million. Prices for the stock slid, however, by 7.7 percent to 12-100ths of a cent. The company is determined to roll up a portfolio of innovative software solutions for the smartphone and mobile computing market.


LCAV gains, BAC busy, TRID stumbles

LCAVision Inc. (Nasdaq: LCAV) gained 27.7 percent in price Wednesday to $7.28. Volume of 233,275 shares nearly quadrupled its all-day average. The Cincinnati-based laser vision service today reported that 10,891 procedures were performed during the fourth quarter of 2010, compared with 11,718 procedures (68 vision centers) during the fourth quarter of 2009.

Bank of America Corp..(NYSE: BAC) traded in 111,654,355 shares, better than half its daily average of 216,652,000. Prices for the stock gained 1.65 percent to $14.48, a day after declaring dividends on preferred stock.

Trident Microsystems Inc. (Nasdaq: TRID) dipped 14.1 percent Wednesday to $1.64, on volume of 2,532,140 shares, nearly four times its full-day average, on news TRID introduced a new system-on-chip (SoC) family designed for the next generation of Web-enabled TVs.

Rediff.com India Ltd. (REDF) – Buzz Stock of the Day

Shares of Internet service provider Rediff.com India Ltd. (Nasdaq: REDF) were up as much as 18 percent from Wednesday’s closing price in morning trading on Thursday. Shares of Rediff were up more than 3 percent in pre-market trading today, as well.

For the second quarter ended September 30, Rediff.com reported a net loss of $1.59 million, or 6 cents per ADS, down from $2.61 million, or 9 cents per ADS. Total revenue in the quarter climbed 21 percent to $5.07 million over the same quarter last year. Gross margin in the quarter increased to $2.48 million, or 49 percent of sales, up from $1.57 million, or 37 percent of sales.  The company’s core online advertising revenues in its India business grew 46 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year; total India revenues, which includes fee-based and online advertising revenues, grew 35 percent for the quarter, while Rediff’s global revenues grew 21 percent  for the quarter, in each case over the same quarter last year.

As of September 30, 2010, Rediff.com’s total registered users grew to 95 million, an increase of 15 percent compared to the comparable period in 2009.

“New products and services introduced over the past year have been focused on improving our users experience, as well as expanding our footprint in new growth segments, such as social networking, gaming and now, mobile services,” said Rediff.com’s Chairman and CEO, Ajit Balakrishnan in a statement. “Our balance sheet remains strong and we believe Rediff has improved its competitive position and is poised for growth in the years ahead.”

One of Rediff.com’s most recent initiatives is a subscription-based e-mail service called Rediffmail NG. Rediffmail NG allows Indian Internet users to sync, send and receive e-mails on their mobile phones for about $1 per-month. The service works across almost all mobile phone platforms including Symbian, Java, Andriod, as well on almost all low cost phones starting at prices as low as US $30. This is a first for the Indian market as the estimated 670 million mobile phone user in India will now have affordable email service at their fingertips.

“Our Rediffmail NG mobile platform is a first step towards increasing our share of subscription-based revenue and we believe, will yield an additional revenue stream for our Company while enabling us to take part in the exciting growth of mobile services,” Balakrishnan said.

HTM shows its power, INS proves brainy, SPDR flies off shelves, DPW down

U.S. Geothermal Inc. (AMEX: HTM) leaped 22.73 percent to $1.35, on volume of 1,986,007 shares, or nearly 10 times its daily average. The Boise, Idaho company has scheduled a conference call for Tuesday, to discuss second-quarter financials. U.S. Geothermal Inc., a renewable energy company focused on the production of electricity from geothermal energy, owns and operates geothermal power plants at Raft River, Idaho and San Emidio, Nevada, and is developing the Neal Hot Springs project in Oregon.

Intelligent Systems Corporation (AMEX: INS) went skyward 50.93 percent to $1.60 in early afternoon trading Monday.  INS share volume surpassed 13,650 shares, dwarfing its three-month daily average of 1,267. INS, based in Norcross, Georgia, for 30 years, has identified, created, operated and grown early stage technology companies.

SPDR S&P 500 (NYSEArca: SPY) led AMEX volume stocks early Monday afternoon by trading in 81,826,044 shares. Daily three-month average is 194,042,000 shares. The index-based issue lost some traction, though, faltering in price 0.18 percent to $122.50.

Digital Power Corporation (AMEX: DPW) gave back 11.28 percent in price in early afternoon trading Monday to $1.73. Volume quadrupled its three-month daily average at124,392 shares. The company, based in Fremont, Calif., last week reported third-quarter revenues increased by 87 percent to $3,186,000, compared to $1,708,000 for the quarter ended September 30, 2009. Net income was $303,000 for the quarter ended September 30, 2010, compared to a net loss of $205,000 for the same quarter last year.

CBKN, WWON, BAC cruise, GCA slumps

Capital Bank Corporation: (NasdaqGS: CBKN) enjoyed a banner day Thursday, rocketing up in price 52.44 percent to close at $2.50, on unusually active volume of 460,185, more than 11 times its normal daily average The Raleigh-based regional bank announced Thursday it will sell an 85-percent stake in itself to privately-held North American Financial Holdings Inc., a holding company that will invest $181 million in Capital Bank and take over leadership of the 33-branch institution.

Westwood One Inc. (NasdaqGM: WWON) gained 27.82 percent in price Thursday to close at $11.12. Volume was 13,294, slightly below average. WWON supplies radio television stations with information services and programming. The Company, an outsource provider of traffic reporting services, produces and distributes national news, sports, talk, music, and special event programs.

Bank of America Corporation (NYSE: BAC) was also quite the active trader on a very busy Thursday, with 306,970,976 shares changing hands, nearly twice the business it would do on an average day. Besides being one of the leaders in volume, BAC boosted its price 5.3 percent to close at $12.13. Financial stocks in general extended Thursday gains after a report that the government might allow some of the larger institutions to resume dividend payments.

Global Cash Access Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: GCA) tumbled 22.87 percent Thursday to close at $2.90, on heavy share volume of 5,448,124, at least nine times its average. The news came just ahead of a third-quarter earnings call, scheduled for 5 p.m. ET, an hour after the market closed. GCA supplies cash access products and related marketing services to the gaming industry.
