LTX has credence, BAC active, ALOT sinks,

LTX-Credence Corporation (NasdaqGM: LTXC) galloped ahead 31.10 percent in price by noon ET Thursday to $7.84. Volume of 6,628,004 shares trumped the stock’s three-month daily average of 531,400. Thursday, it was announced that LTXC was being investigated in connection with the proposed acquisition by Verigy. The probe seeks to determine whether LTXC and its Board breached their fiduciary duties by entering into the agreement without properly shopping for a deal that would provide better value for shareholders.

Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) did a brisk trade by midday Thursday, with 80.3 million shares changing hands, against its usual daily volume of 259,370,000 shares. BAC shares nipped ahead 0.65 percent Thursday in price to $11.69. It was announced Thursday that BAC ranked number one among all banks in the amount of credit extended through the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 504 loan program during the last fiscal year.

AstroMed Inc. (NasdaqGM: ALOT) fell in price early Thursday by 9.4 percent to approach noon at $6.65. Volume of 63,500 shares trounced its usual daily volume of 2,998 shares. The Rhode Island-based ALOT reported this week net sales of $18,329,000 and net income of $792,000 for the third quarter of 2010, compared to net sales of $16,658,000 and net income of $683,000.

KV surges, BAC trades, JTX swoons

KV Pharmaceutical CLA (NYSE: KV-A) increased 14.69 percent in price Wednesday to $2.42. Volume was 480,021 shares, rapidly catching up on its daily average of 548,417. The St. Louis-based KV announced today that it has entered into an agreement with US Healthcare I, L.L.C. and US Healthcare II, L.L. C. affiliates of New York-based Centerbridge Partners, L.P for a senior secured debt financing package of up to $120 million.

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) was a volume leader Wednesday, dealing in 71,100,577shares, compared to its three-month daily average of 196,016,000. The carmaker saw its stock price skid 1.63 percent to $11.74. BAC was ordered by a U.S. judge to return $500 million of deposits it seized from Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc shortly after Lehman’s record bankruptcy.

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. (NYSE: JTX) fell in price by noon Wednesday by 18.88 percent to 82.74 cents. Volume was 1,954,063 shares, more than four times its three-month daily average.

AIB reacts to EU speculation, BAC deals widely, RINO slumps on profit news

Allied Irish Banks, PLC (NYSE: AIB) pumped stronger in price by 10.10 percent approaching midday in New York, to $1.14. Volume in this stock 3,451,782 shares, just shy of its three-month daily average of 4,945,550 shares.  Shares of Allied Irish picked up as speculation increases Ireland will get some sort of bailout from the European Union.

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) proved quite the active stock in Monday morning trading, exchanging 46,667,839 shares. Normal daily share volume is around 194,841,000. BAC shares gained 0.99 percent in price to $12.25. BAC said Monday 30-day- plus credit-card delinquencies fell to 5.60 percent in October from 5.71 percent in September. Write-offs rose to 10.15 percent from 9.99 percent on an annualized basis. The information was disclosed in a regulatory filing.

RINO International Corporation (NasdaqGS: RINO) listed downward 23.07 percent by midday Monday in New York to $8.47. Volume of 3,408,627 more than quadrupled its 3-month average for an entire day. The clean energy company reported net income was $8.8 million, or 31 cents a share, compared with $17.1 million, or 68 cents a share, last year. Revenue fell 17 percent to $52.1 million.

Lights bright on Broadway, C, BAC among volume leaders, CELH cools off

Broadway Financial Corporation (NasdaqCM: BYFC) enjoyed a banner morning Thursday, opening 29.57 percent higher in price to $2.41. Opening volume may have been a scant 7,175 shares, but still twice its average for the whole day. The bank’s parent, Broadway Federal Bank, f.s.b., founded in 1946, is the leading community-oriented savings bank in Southern California serving low to moderate income communities.

Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) was among the volume leaders in the early going of Thursday’s session, trading in 85,696,412 shares. Daily average in the banking conglomerate is 471,294,000 shares. Prices for Citigroup, however, slid 1.13 percent to $4.37. The company announced Thursday morning that it had sold a $1.4-billion portfolio of multifamily and commercial real estate loans to OneWest Bank on Thursday, as the larger bank continued to shed assets it considers unrelated to its main banking businesses.

Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC) saw its shares fly thick and fast in Thursday’s session, trading in 39,796,719 shares, a large fraction of its daily average of 195,038,000. BAC shares decreased in price, though, 1.75 percent to $12.35, after announcing that it had sold most of its stake in BlackRock, the world’s largest money manager. BAC sold 43.6 million shares for $163 per share, putting a $7-billion value on the deal.

Celsius Holdings Inc. (NasdaqCM: CELH) saw its shares dip in price 30.66 percent in early Thursday trading to 95 cents. Volume was 189,585 shares, trampling its daily average of 24,289. CELH Wednesday announced revenue for the quarter totaled $1.8 million as compared to $1.3 million for the same quarter in 2009, an increase of 32%. The Company recorded a net loss of $5.0 million for the 2010 quarter as compared to $2.7 million for the same period last year.

IDT-C, CGA speed ahead, BAC is hot, RDN is not

IDT Corporation (NYSE: IDT-C) strengthened 37.38 percent in price by noon ET Monday to $16.98. IDT shares leaped off the shelves, trading in 178,167, in comparison to a three-month daily average of 4,741. Last week, IDT’s Board of Directors authorized an initial cash dividend of $0.22 per share to be paid on or about November 23 to shareholders of record at the close of business on November 15 of IDT Corporation Common Stock, Class A Common Stock and Class B Common Stock. IDT is a consumer services company with operations primarily in the telecommunications and energy industries.

China Green Agriculture Inc. (NYSE: CGA) gained 10.55 percent to $8.38 as the clock approached noon ET Monday. Volume was 574,045 in just the first half of the trading day, compared to the daily average of 590,935. This, despite word that class action lawsuit has been commenced in the United States on behalf of purchasers of the securities of China Green Agriculture, Inc. between November 12, 2009 and September 1, 2010. The complaint charges China Green and certain of its officers and directors failed to disclose accurate financial information during the Class Period.

Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC) had a commanding position among volume stocks Monday morning, exchanging 106,512,045 shares, compared with a three-month daily average of 190,530,000 shares. The conglomerate inched ahead in price 1.17 percent to read $12.51 at the lunch hour in New York. The company serves clients through operations in more than 40 countries.

Radian Group Inc. (NYSE: RDN) took a spill of 11.16 percent in price to greet noon ET on Monday at $8.84. Volume in RDN stock came in at 6,313,939 shares, more than 50 percent above its three-month daily volume average. The Philadelphia-based mortgage insurer saw its shares drop, after announcing it will raise up to $350 million through a convertible notes offering to repay debt.
