CRMD healthy, F rolls off lot, PWAV subsides

CorMedix Inc. (AMEX: CRMD) boosted its price 18.31 percent to close Monday’s trading at $1.68. Volume for the stock was 85,819 shares, or about seven times its normal daily average. Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) traded in 52,625,749 shares, but still a whole lot less than its daily average of 84,557,800 shares. Share prices retreated 1.55 percent to $16.47. Ford said Monday it will begin construction on a new plant in Nanchang City, capital of east China’s Jiangxi Province, next year.

Powerwave Technologies Inc. (NasdaqGS: PWAV) backtracked 11.48 percent to close Monday at $2.39. Volume of 5,798,434 shares, more than tripled its full-day average. The company is a global leader in end-to-end wireless coverage and capacity solutions.

SHZ shoots higher, THC busy, DANG dinged

China Shen Zhou Mining and Resources Inc. (AMEX: SHZ) climbed 20.90 percent in price Monday afternoon to $4.57. Volume was 4,191,519 shares, more than triple the stock’s normal daily average. SHZ, engaged in the exploration, development, mining and processing of fluorite, zinc, lead, copper, and other nonferrous metals in China, today announced that the Company has received the preliminary 2011 production limitation policy for the fluorite industry from the China Non-metallic Minerals Industry Association Fluorite Committee

Tenet Healthcare Corp (NYSE: THC) had great volume Monday afternoon, with 31,149,189 shares changing hands, almost three times normal daily average. Prices for THC were down 2.03 percent to $6.51. THC is a health care services company whose subsidiaries and affiliates own and operate acute care hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and diagnostic imaging centers.

E-Commerce China Dangdang Inc. (NYSE: DANG) stumbled 10.19 percent to $29.55 on Monday. Volume was 2,864,983 shares, compared to its full-day average of 16,833,600. DANG celebrated its IPO last Wednesday.

RES revved up, BAC solid, LCI wobbles

RPC Inc. (NYSE: RES) spiked 50.21 percent Monday to $21.11. Volume was 675,973 shares, just above pulling even with its normal daily average. The Atlanta-based RES provides a broad range of specialized oilfield services and equipment primarily to independent and major oilfield companies engaged in the exploration, production and development of oil and gas properties throughout the U.S.

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) took its place among the volume leaders mid-morning Monday, trading in 63,254,656 shares, compared to its normal daily average of 209,350,000. BAC’s price inched back 0.16 percent to $12.78. Bank of America Merrill Lynch today announced that it has launched electronic FX options trading capabilities for institutional and corporate clients.

Lannett Co. Inc. (AMEX: LCI) dipped in price 13.28 percent to $5.21 soon after Monday’s opening. Volume was 74,742 shares, compared to a full-day average of 51,394. LCI develops, manufactures, packages, markets and distributes generic pharmaceutical products for a wide range of indications.

MGN mighty, GE does bright business, ACMR falters

Mines Management Inc, (AMEX: MGN) strengthened 24.31 percent in price to $3.58. Volume of 704,193 shares trounced the stock’s normal full-day average volume of 118,542. Last week, the Spokane-based MGN announced it closed out the quarter with $7.4 million of unrestricted cash and certificates of deposit.

General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) traded in 58,589,131 shares, making it a leader in volume, edging its daily average. Shares in GE inched down 0.48 percent to close Monday at $16.70. GE today announced that it will provide gas turbine technology to Mass Global Investment Company, an independent power producer, to help meet northern Iraq’s growing demand for electricity. Under the agreement, GE will supply three Frame 9E gas turbines and generators for the 375-megawatt expansion of the Arbil Power Plant, located in Iraq’s Kurdistan region.

A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts Inc. (NasdaqGS: ACMR) faded in price 12.86 percent Monday afternoon to wind up at $1.93, on volume of 354,971 shares, seven times its daily volume average. ACMR is a specialty retailer of arts, crafts and floral merchandise for a wide range of customers.

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) was among the volume leaders mid afternoon Monday, trading in 77,841,291 shares, catching up on its full-day average, which is near 203,314,000. The price slid, however, 1.26 percent to $11.71.

CDC Software Corp. (NasdaqGM: CDCS) took a beating in price 12.38 percent Monday afternoon to $6.23, on volume of 79,163 shares, besting its full-day average of 46,456. CDCS’ Ross Systems, Inc. announced today that it came out on the short end of a verdict Friday, in fraud litigation between Ross Systems, Inc. and Sunshine Mills, Inc., a major employer based in Red Bay , Alabama . In the lawsuit, Sunshine Mills alleged fraud related to the sale and implementation of a beta Ross ERP system in early 2005. The jury awarded a total of $61 million in damages to Sunshine Mills
