WSB has banner day, HGSI boosts volume, SOLR sets

WSB Holdings Inc. (NasdaqGM: WSB) gained 19.06 percent in price Wednesday to close at $2.77. Volume of 9,977 shares more than tripled its daily average. Headquartered in the Baltimore-Washington corridor, WSB serves the banking needs of growing businesses with commercial lending facilities, commercial real estate financing, residential mortgages, and residential construction financing for both developers and individual home owners.

Human Genome Sciences Inc. (NasdaqGM: HGSI) was active in Wednesday trading, with volume of 32,900,723, more than 10 times its usual daily volume. HGSI shares faded, however, 5.29 percent in price to $24.51. Tuesday, HGSI and GlaxoSmithKline PLC (GSK) announced that the Arthritis Advisory Committee of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has voted 13 to 2 to recommend that the FDA approve BENLYSTA® (belimumab) for the treatment of autoantibody-positive patients with active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

GT Solar International Inc. (NasdaqGS: SOLR) fell in price Wednesday by 15.38 percent to close at $7.10. Its volume of 10,123,799 shares towered over its three-month daily average of 3,485,580. SOLR is a global provider of polysilicon production technology, and sapphire and silicon crystalline growth systems and materials for the solar, LED and other specialty markets

Allied Irish Banks, PLC (NYSE: AIB) pumped stronger in price by 10.10 percent approaching midday in New York, to $1.14. Volume in this stock 3,451,782 shares, just shy of its three-month daily average of 4,945,550 shares.  Shares of Allied Irish picked up as speculation increases Ireland will get some sort of bailout from the European Union.

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) proved quite the active stock in Monday morning trading, exchanging 46,667,839 shares. Normal daily share volume is around 194,841,000. BAC shares gained 0.99 percent in price to $12.25. BAC said Monday 30-day- plus credit-card delinquencies fell to 5.60 percent in October from 5.71 percent in September. Write-offs rose to 10.15 percent from 9.99 percent on an annualized basis. The information was disclosed in a regulatory filing.

RINO International Corporation (NasdaqGS: RINO) listed downward 23.07 percent by midday Monday in New York to $8.47. Volume of 3,408,627 more than quadrupled its 3-month average for an entire day. The clean energy company reported net income was $8.8 million, or 31 cents a share, compared with $17.1 million, or 68 cents a share, last year. Revenue fell 17 percent to $52.1 million.

CWNR gallops, XDSL gets a charge, TRDX flat

Crosswind Renewable Energy Corp. (Pink Sheets: CWNR) saw its stock price jump 25 percent in late Wednesday afternoon trading to 30 cents on 2.1 million shares. Tuesday, the Naples, Fla.-based Clean Energy Solutions company and global provider of category leading Renewable Energy Technology, announced today that it has entered into a sales and marketing licensing agreement with Green Energy Products Bahamas, Ltd. of Nassau, The Bahamas.

mPhase Technologies Inc. (OTCBB: XDSL) prospered 20.88 percent Wednesday, as its stock price rose to 0.01 cents, on volume of 17.55 million shares. The battery company, based in Little Falls, N.J., announced Wednesday that it is developing a new automotive product with a major European automobile manufacturer that is based on advanced battery technology.

SciMeDent Health Corp. f/k/a Trend Exploration Inc. (Pink Sheets: TRDX) was flat in afternoon trading Wednesday, finding its price at one cent in the last hour of the trading day, on volume of 17.73 million shares. The Jericho, N.Y.-based life sciences company Wednesday announced quarterly gross revenue of $362,464, compared to $198,458 in the prior-year quarter, or 82 percent higher.

GRH more energetic, SPDR sells briskly, MBR lists lower

GreenHunter Energy Inc. (AMEX: GRH) tacked on 15.98 percent to its price in early afternoon Wednesday, to $1.38. Volume on GRH shares was an unusually heavy 166,854, about five times its daily average. The Grapevine, Texas-based company announced last week that it has closed on approximately $30 million in tax-exempt Recovery Zone Facility Bonds.

SPDR S&P 500 (NYSEArca: SPY) did a brisk business early Wednesday, having traded in 123,355,762 shares, rapidly approaching its daily average of 193,469,000. The index-based issue inched up 0.22 percent in price to $121.88.

Mercantile Bancorp Inc. (AMEX: MBR) took it on the chin during early Wednesday afternoon trading, giving back 22.48 percent in price to $1.00. Volume in MBR stock surpassed 79,631 shares, or nearly 20 times its daily average. Last week, the Quincy, Illinois-based regional bank announced it would terminate its shareholder rights offering without acceptance of any of the subscriptions exercised thereunder.

OCOL hurtles, SGAMY sells, CTLI gets bruised

Bering Exploration Inc. (Pink Sheets: OCOL) formerly Oncolin Therapeutics, Inc.,  leaped in price by 29.03 percent mid-morning Wednesday to 40 cents. Volume was a scant 1,300 shares. The Houston-based oil company announced in late October that it has successfully drilled its first well on its South Texas prospect which has potential gross reserves of 5,000,000 barrels of oil and 46 BCF of natural gas.

Sega Sammy Holdings Inc. (Pink Sheets: SGAMY) saw 1,121,500 of its shares change hands in early trading Wednesday. The game magnate’s stock stumbled in price 1.49 percent to $3.96, still in the upper regions of a 52-week range that peaked at $4.13.

Compress Technologies Inc. (Pink Sheets: CTLI) took a header in the early hours Wednesday, losing 93.68 percent in price to 11 cents. Volume was 22,500 shares for a stock that peaked for the last 52 weeks at $2.00. CTLI is a Pompano Beach, Florida-area technology-based company.
