AIG jumps, F rolls off the lot, TNGN stumbles

American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG) hiked in price Thursday by 13.03 percent to $47.72. Volume in the stock was 20,815,012, or better than five times normal volume.

Ford motor Company (NYSE: F) traded in 37,567,113 shares Thursday, but considerably less than half its daily average of 84,616,400. Share prices were flat at $16.78. The car maker Thursday boasted that its 2011 Ford Explorer V6 fuel economy ratings are now EPA-approved at 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, a 25-percent improvement over the previous V6 model

Tengion Inc. (NasdaqGM: TNGN) took a hit in price 12.31 percent Thursday to $2.28, on volume of 48,517 shares, more than four times its normal full-day average. The Pennsylvania-based TNGN is a leader in regenerative medicine.


SUIP surges, CMGR trades a lot, GNTP drops

Sunrise Mining Corp. (OTCBB: SUIP) rose 124.14 percent in price to 6.5 cents, on volume of about 27,000 shares, a fraction of daily volume of 47,350. The Company is a mining resource company that currently is working on identifying and developing projects in Asia.

Camelot Entertainment Group Inc. (OTCBB: CMGR) found its shares flew off the shelves late Thursday, trading in 456.26 million shares, leaving its normal volume of 132.35 million shares in the dust. CMGR announced Wednesday that it had entered into an agreement with Los Angeles based post-production house Lit Post for special effects and coloring work on the Camelot acquisition A WARRIOR’S HEART, a teen romantic-drama starring Twilight’s Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene.

Global Entertainment Corp. (OTCBB: GNTP) shed 64 percent of its price strength Thursday to nine cents. Volume of 265,570 shares overwhelmed its usual average of just over 10,000. The Arizona-based company has as its goal to build a worldwide entertainment organization with a multitude of domestic and foreign production affiliates.


ZQK is quick, MGM calls on markers, BITA gets bitten

Quicksilver, Inc. (NYSE: ZQK) propspered 20.52 percent Thursday afternoon to $5.58. Volume was 7,145,473 shares dwarfed its daily average of 1,018,300.

MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) traded in 44,877,735 shares Thursday, pulling ahead of its daily average of 34,610,000. Share prices were down 1.74 percent at $13.54, amid a move to get Nevada Senator Harry Reid on board with a bill to back Internet gambling. MGM is the dominant casino operator in Las Vegas.

Bitauto Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: BITA) took a hit in price 11.85 percent Thursday to $8.85, on volume of 473,339 shares, just better than half its normal full-day average. BITA made its debut last month, and is a leading provider of Internet content and marketing services for China’s fast-growing automotive industry.


YOKU moves skyward, INTC busy, GRB skids

YOUKU.COM (NYSE: YOKU) grew 27.72 percent in price Thursday afternoon to $42.71. Volume of 14,547,545 shares is catching up on its daily average of 16.94 million. The Chinese Internet television company celebrated its IPO Wednesday.

Intel Corporation (NasdaqGS: INTC) traded in 44,197,894 shares, to make it among the volume leaders early Thursday afternoon, catching up on its daily average of 60,330,900. Share prices were flat at $21.82.

Gerber Scientific Inc. (NYSE: GRB) fell in price 21.29 percent Thursday to $6.69, on volume of 63,726 shares, slightly more than its normal full-day average. The Connecticut-based Gerber reported revenue increased 9.0% to $129.3 million from $118.7 million. Gross profit was $38.6 million or 29.9% of sales versus $35.2 million or 29.7% of sales.


All hail HELE, CSCO does big business, BONA makes bow

Helen of Troy Ltd. (NasdaqGS: HELE) grew 17.2 percent in price Thursday afternoon to $27.59. Volume was 785,410 shares, more than five times its daily average. The El Paso-based personal care company announced today it has entered into a definitive merger agreement to acquire the business of Kaz, Inc., for $260 million.

Cisco System Inc. (NasdaqGS: CSCO) traded in 59,059,916 shares, to make it among the volume leaders early Thursday afternoon. Share prices improved 2.12 percent to $19.76

Bona Film Group Ltd. (NasdaqGM: BONA) skidded in price 21.29 percent Thursday to $6.69, on volume of 7,715,365 shares on the day of its IPO. The largest privately owned film distributor in China, today announced that its initial public offering of 11,740,000 American depositary shares, each two ADSs representing one ordinary share of the Company, was priced at $8.50 per ADS.
