BORN soars in price, INTC big seller, UQM sinks

China New Borun Corporation (NYSE: BORN) saw a spike in price of 11.8 percent in Thursday afternoon trade to $12.41 Volume of 903,056 shares is to within sight of its daily average of 1,246,800 shares. The Beijing-based producer and distributor of corn-based edible alcohol in China, this week announced third-quarter revenue increased 26.1 percent to RMB417.7 million ($62.3 million U.S.) from RMB331.1 million in the third quarter of 2009. Gross profit increased 31.2 percent to RMB100.9 million ($15.1 million).

Intel Corp. (NasdaqGS: INTC) traded in 48,084,401 shares Thursday afternoon, approaching its usual daily volume of 67,954,000 shares. Shares of the chipmaker fell back 0.38 percent to $21.00. The company announced its storage division has recently added new major wins with five storage vendors, illustrating the company’s momentum around developing advanced integrated storage features and capabilities.

UQM Technologies Inc. (AMEX: UQM) fell in price Thursday by 3.81 percent to $2.02. Volume of 224,907 shares was still shy of UQM’s usual daily volume of 281, 265 shares. The Colorado-based UQM develops of alternative energy technologies.

CDTI leaps, CSCO posts strong volume, VRGY bruised

Clean Diesel Technologies Inc. (NasdaqCM: CDTI) prospered 19.13 percent in price in early Thursday afternoon trade to $18.25  Volume of 286,570 shares trumped the stock’s three-month daily average of 48,333. The Ventura, Calif.-based CDTI is a cleantech emissions reduction company.

Cisco Systems Inc. (NasdaqGS: CSCO) was a volume leader early Thursday afternoon, with 55,840,000 shares changing hands, against its usual daily volume of 68,212,800 shares. CSCO shares nipped ahead 0.8 percent Thursday in price to $19.56.

Verigy Ltd. (NasdaqGS: VRGY) fell in price early Thursday by 6.17 percent to $8.36. Volume of 4,340,000 shares trampled over usual daily volume of 628,148 shares. It was announced Thursday that LTX-Credence Corporation was being investigated for possible breaches of fiduciary duty and other violations of state law in connection with their attempt to complete a sale of the Company to Verigy Ltd.

WSB has banner day, HGSI boosts volume, SOLR sets

WSB Holdings Inc. (NasdaqGM: WSB) gained 19.06 percent in price Wednesday to close at $2.77. Volume of 9,977 shares more than tripled its daily average. Headquartered in the Baltimore-Washington corridor, WSB serves the banking needs of growing businesses with commercial lending facilities, commercial real estate financing, residential mortgages, and residential construction financing for both developers and individual home owners.

Human Genome Sciences Inc. (NasdaqGM: HGSI) was active in Wednesday trading, with volume of 32,900,723, more than 10 times its usual daily volume. HGSI shares faded, however, 5.29 percent in price to $24.51. Tuesday, HGSI and GlaxoSmithKline PLC (GSK) announced that the Arthritis Advisory Committee of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has voted 13 to 2 to recommend that the FDA approve BENLYSTA® (belimumab) for the treatment of autoantibody-positive patients with active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

GT Solar International Inc. (NasdaqGS: SOLR) fell in price Wednesday by 15.38 percent to close at $7.10. Its volume of 10,123,799 shares towered over its three-month daily average of 3,485,580. SOLR is a global provider of polysilicon production technology, and sapphire and silicon crystalline growth systems and materials for the solar, LED and other specialty markets

IDT moves up, CSCO passes volume avg., CRC falls

IDT Corporation (NYSE: IDT) increased 9.69 percent in price Wednesday to $22.18. Volume was 587,063 shares, more than doubling its daily average. IDT is a consumer services company with operations primarily in the telecommunications and energy industries

Cisco Systems Inc. (NasdaqGS: CSCO) Wednesday dealt in 71,003,842 shares, surpassing its three-month daily average of 67,852,400. CSCO shares inched forward 0.69 percent to $19.57. CSCO today announced that it leads in total USGv6 certification for routers, switches and firewalls, aligning with President Barack Obama’s recent directive that all U.S. government agencies upgrade their IT infrastructures in support of Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), as the remaining pool of IPv4 addresses shrinks.

Chromcraft Revington Inc. (AMEX: CRC) fell in price Wednesday afternoon by 18.5 percent to $1.63. Volume of 40,675 shares, dwarfed its three-month daily average of 3,592. Tuesday, CRC reported sales of $13,808,000 and a net loss of $1,933,000 for the three months ended October 2, 2010 as compared to sales of $16,030,000 and a net loss of $979,000 for the prior year period.

TTGL has banner day, SMKY smokin’, ECCE has wings clipped

Titan Global Holdings, Inc. (Pink Sheets: TTGL) screamed higher in late afternoon trading Monday, gaining 5,900 percent in price to six-10ths of a cent. Volume so far Monday is 32,738 shares.

Smoky Market Foods, Inc. (OTCBB: SMKY) rocketed in price 500 percent Monday to six-10ths of a cent. Volume in the stock was 995,000 shares.

Eagle Ford Oil & Gas, Corp. (OTCBB: ECCE) faded in price 87.18 percent to 10 cents Monday afternoon. Volume was 4,534 shares. Houston-based ECCE announced last week a drilling update for the two wells in the Eagle Ford Shale formation located in Live Oak County in South Texas. The Kellam#2H has been successfully completed and is currently producing.
