ELCR in gear, CMGR shines bright, WLSI sinks

Electric Car Company Inc. (OTCBB: ELCR) doubled in price soon after Tuesday’s opening bell to two-100ths of a cent, on volume of 4.1 million shares. The Missouri-based ELCR is a vehicle conversion company that specializes in electric conversions and manufacturing for the Livery, Fleet and Private Specialty Markets.

Camelot Entertainment Group Inc. (OTCBB: CMGR) exploded off the shelves, trading Tuesday in 47.33 million shares soon after the opening bell. CMGR stock was down in price 14.29 percent, however, at six-100ths of a cent. The Los Angeles-based company announced today that its quarterly revenue increased 130 percent from the last quarter, totaling $53,712 as compared to $23,338 during the second quarter of 2010, with an additional $266,975 in collected revenue booked as deferred revenue under motion picture accounting rules.

Wellstar International Inc. (OTCBB: WLSI) took a 50-percent pasting early in Tuesday trading to one-100th of a cent. Volume was 3.88 million shares. WLSI is a provider of specialized diagnostic software and equipment

NYNY comes up nuggets, MSFT big trader, LPTH slides

Empire Resorts Inc. (NasdaqGM: NYNY) gained 25.83 percent in price in Thursday afternoon trade to $1.51 Volume of 1,969,508 shares left its usual share volume of 164,241 in the dust. The casino operator announced last week that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Monticello Casino and Raceway, has added electronic roulette games to its increasingly diverse slot offerings.

Microsoft Corp. (NasdaqGS: MSFT) was among Thursday’s volume kingpins, trading in 46,986,893 shares Thursday afternoon, approaching its usual daily volume of 61,528,900 shares. Shares of the software giant inched up 1.17 percent to $25.87. Following the successful launch of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, MSFT announced Thursday that the upcoming release of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 will provide midsize customers with new contextual business intelligence capabilities and additional ease-of-use features that make actionable information more accessible than before to people across an organization.

LightPath Technologies Inc. (NasdaqCM: LPTH) fell in price Thursday by 12.61 percent to $1.97. Volume of 56,602 shares narrowly bested the company’s usual daily volume of 39,762 shares. The Orlando-based global manufacturer, distributor and integrator of patented optical components and assemblies announced Wednesday that it has expanded its direct selling channels in China as part of its strategy to deliver high volumes of aspheric lenses to Asian manufacturers of optical equipment.

GTN spikes, RF has great volume, WSM stumbles

Gray Communication Systems (NYSE: GTN) improved in price by 11.58 percent in Thursday afternoon trade to $1.70 Volume of 425,772 shares proved nearly double the stock’s three-month daily average. Atlanta-based GTN is a television broadcast company, operating 36 television stations serving 30 markets.

Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE: RF) did brisk trade Thursday afternoon, with 73,128,272 shares changing hands, quadruple its usual daily volume of 18,752,300 shares. RF shares trailed Wednesday’s close by 3.43 percent to $5.35.

Williams-Sonoma Inc. (NYSE: WSM) fell in price Thursday by 8.13 percent to $32.89. Volume of 7,246,547 shares more than tripled usual daily volume of 2,129,680 shares. WSM Thursday announced third-quarter Net revenues increased 11.8 percent to $816 million versus $729 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2009. GAAP Diluted Earnings per share increased to $0.34 from $0.07 in Q3 ’09.

CDTI leaps, CSCO posts strong volume, VRGY bruised

Clean Diesel Technologies Inc. (NasdaqCM: CDTI) prospered 19.13 percent in price in early Thursday afternoon trade to $18.25  Volume of 286,570 shares trumped the stock’s three-month daily average of 48,333. The Ventura, Calif.-based CDTI is a cleantech emissions reduction company.

Cisco Systems Inc. (NasdaqGS: CSCO) was a volume leader early Thursday afternoon, with 55,840,000 shares changing hands, against its usual daily volume of 68,212,800 shares. CSCO shares nipped ahead 0.8 percent Thursday in price to $19.56.

Verigy Ltd. (NasdaqGS: VRGY) fell in price early Thursday by 6.17 percent to $8.36. Volume of 4,340,000 shares trampled over usual daily volume of 628,148 shares. It was announced Thursday that LTX-Credence Corporation was being investigated for possible breaches of fiduciary duty and other violations of state law in connection with their attempt to complete a sale of the Company to Verigy Ltd.

CHS chugs along, INTC among volume kings, TKMR thumped

Chico’s Fas, Inc. (NYSE: CHS) prospered 9.41 percent in price Wednesday to $11.02. Volume was 10,782,229 shares, more than doubling its daily average of 4,519,330. CHS, based in Fort Myers, Fla., Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $28.8 million, or $0.16 per diluted share, for the third quarter compared to net income of $22.7 million, or $0.13 per diluted share, for last year’s third quarter.

Intel Inc. (NasdaqGS: INTC) had an active Wednesday, trading in 33,245,903 shares, though less than half of its three-month daily average of 68,021,700. The software giant’s shares lost 0.28 percent worth of steam in Wednesday trading to $21.01 just half an hour before the closing bell. INTC announced Wednesday that it has inked a letter of intent with China’s homegrown auto electronics enterprise Hangsheng to jointly set up an auto electronics laboratory,

Tekmira Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NasdaqCM: TKMR) fell in price Wednesday afternoon by 17.02 percent to $5.80. Its volume of 34,300 shares was still nearly double TKMR’s three-month daily average. The Vancouver-based in RNA interference therapeutics announced Monday third-quarter financials, featuring net loss of $2.7 million ($0.26 per common share) as compared to a net loss of $2.8 million ($0.27 per common share) for Q3 2009.
