ASCQ ascends, LFBG in front, SUGO sets

Ascend Acquisition Corp. (OTCBB: ASCQ) rocketed up 382.32 percent to lift its price Monday to 15 cents. Volume of 16,930 shares improved on its daily average of 9,233. The company serves as a vehicle to effect a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition or other similar business combination with a currently unidentified operating business.

The Rhode Island-based SUGO Friday announced that it has completed a round of bridge funding needed to complete the long expected NI-43101 report as well as providing for the completion of annual payments associated with the maintenance of the property and claims.

GKK cashes in, F busy, CWBS goes south

Gramercy Capital Corp. (NYSE: GKK) gained in price by 17.26 percent to $2.65 Monday afternoon. Volume of 1,312,566 shares was nearly than triple its normal full-day average volume. SL Green Realty Corp announced an agreement to purchase investments from Gramercy Capital Corp. for an aggregate price of $390.8 million, including the assumption of $265.6 million in debt.

Palatin Technologies Inc. (AMEX: PTN) slid in price 17.13 percent Monday to 87 cents, on volume of 63,151 shares, nosing out its full-day average in just the first two hours. PTN is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the development of peptide, peptide mimetic and small molecule agonists with a focus on melanocortin and natriuretic peptide receptor systems.

SIII strong, CMGR active, KOKX conked

PSS sparks on earnings news, MOT enjoys great volume, TRR trips

Collective Brands Inc. (NYSE: PSS) improved 15.86 percent in price to close Thursday at $20.38. Volume of 7,659,229 shares was five times its normal full-day average volume. PSS announced Thursday it earned $47.6 million, or 75 cents a share, on the period, up from $36.9 million, or 57 cents a share, in the same quarter last year.

Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) was among the volume leaders late Thursday afternoon, trading in 51,736,649 shares, very nearly doubling its full-day average. MOT shares went down on the day, however, by 0.44 percent to $7.97. Motorola Mobility, the communications subsidiary of Motorola, today said it is buying home networking specialist 4Home.

TRC Companies Inc. (NYSE: TRR) gave back 8.83 percent in price Thursday to $2.58, on volume of 19,585 shares, nosing out its full-day average of 14,556. The Lowell, Mass.-based TRR is a recognized leader in engineering, consulting, and construction management services to the energy, environmental, and infrastructure markets
