QTM makes headway, SIRI turns up volume, KONE trips

Quantum Corp. (NYSE: QTM) shares added 15.7% to $3.07, on volume of 11.3 million, more than double its 4.5 million average, after the maker of backup programs for computers said NetApp Inc. (Nasdaq: NTAP) would sell its products around the world. NetApp shares increased 1.8% to $48.70.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (Nasdaq: SIRI) bought and sold 39.3 million shares Wednesday, though below its daily average of 54.2 million. Prices rose 1.4% to $1.84, after announcing its reverse stock split won’t be extended.

Kingtone WirelessInfo Solution (Nasdaq: KONE) fell 9% in price to $1.80 Wednesday, on volume of 414,000, towering over its daily average of 61,000.

KONE soars, BAC busy, FFIV falters

Kingtone Wireless Info Solutions (Nasdaq: KONE) climbed 14.4 percent in price Thursday to $3.65. Volume of 433,351 shares nearly quadrupled its full-day average. KONE Thursday announced quarterly revenues increased 36.1% to $5.33 million from $3.92 million in the prior year period. Gross profit increased 104.7% to $4.64 million from $2.27 million in the prior year period

Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) dealt in 130,095,328 shares, short of its full-day average of 214,812,000. Share prices were flat at$14.38.

F5 Networks Inc. (Nasdaq: FFIV) shares slid 21.7 percent to $108.64. Volume was 12,376,855, far better than the daily average of 2,678,010, after the Internet-traffic software company projected second-quarter revenue below Wall Street expectations.

CWS springs higher, MOT active, KONE sinks

China Wind Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CWS) gained 17.99 percent in price Thursday to $3.41. Volume of 236,605 shares trampled its full-day average of 77,302. CWS is a leading supplier of forged rolled rings and other forged components to the wind power and other industries and industrial equipment primarily to the textile industry in China.

Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) traded Thursday in 55,247,292 shares, nearly doubling its full-day average. MOT share prices gained 5.19 per cent, to $8.91. Nokia Siemens Networks on Wednesday won approval from the European Union (EU) to buy the U.S. -based Motorola Network Business.

Kingtone Wirelessinfo Solution Holding Ltd (NasdaqCM: KONE) reversed 9.79 percent Thursday to $3.41. Volume of 211,373 shares more than doubled its full day average. KONE is a leading China-based software and solutions developer focused on wirelessly enabling businesses and government agencies.
