LBIX leads, INTC in the chips, WHRT skips a beat

Leading Brands Inc. (Nasdaq: LBIX) leaped 19.3% to $3.59 Wednesday, on volumes of 141,194 shares or about six times its normal volume, after doubling its quarterly net income over last year.

Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC) traded in 32.9 million shares Wednesday, still trailing its daily average of 54.5 million. Prices dipped 0.7% to $21.49.

World Heart Corporation (Nasdaq: WHRT) shares faded 16.1% to $1.56 Wednesday. Volume of 266,048 shares more than tripled its full-day average, after pausing enrollment in its heart device study.

CTHR shines, INTC has lots of chips, LPHI in legal trouble

Charles & Colvard Ltd. (Nasdaq: CTHR) grew in price 17.7 percent Monday to $3.72 volume of 187,263 shares, four times its daily average. CHTR is the world’s only maker of the diamond-like jewel moissanite.

Intel Corporation (Nasdaq: INTC) traded in 31.2 million shares, still trailing a daily average of 55 million. Share prices were flat at $21.67, despite lots of activity in the tech field.

Life Partners Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: LPHI) faltered 10.9 percent Monday to $8.39. Volume was 273,914shares, outdistancing a daily average of 191,736, only days after lawsuits were filed against LPHI over allegedly inaccurate claims.

CELL rings, INTC trades widely, ICGN takes breather

Brightpoint Inc. (Nasdaq: CELL) shares moved north 32 percent Thursday to $12.57, on volumes of nearly three million, six times its full-day average, a day after presenting Q4 earnings that beat Street estimates.

Intel Inc. (Nasdaq: INTC) traded in 27.3 million shares Thursday, trailing its all-day average of 55.5 million. Shares for the chipmaker nosed ahead 0.6 percent to $21.50.

Icagen Inc. (Nasdaq: ICGN) got thumped 12.6 percent in price to $3.25 Thursday. Volume was 809,218, besting its daily average of 563,036, after the FDA lifted its hold on ICGN’s epilepsy drug.

NAVI goes sailing, INTC busy, ALVR goes south

NaviSite Inc. (Nasdaq: NAVI) shares advanced 31.7 percent to $5.44, on volume of 9.4 million, overwhelming a daily average of about 91,000, after cable and Internet-service provider Time Warner Cable Inc. (NYSE: TWC) late Tuesday said it would acquire the remote-server host provider for about $230 million.

Intel Corporation (Nasdaq: INTC) traded in 17.4 million shares Wednesday, trailing a daily average volume of 55.6 million. Prices for the stock improved 0.7 percent to $21.62, as the fallout continued from its billion-dollar chip error.

Alvarion Ltd (Nasdaq: ALVR) shares declined 11.3% to $1.96. Volume for the stock was 572,918 shares, better than twice its daily average, after the Israeli maker of wireless-broadband equipment reported a larger fourth-quarter loss.

MOBI mobile, INTC has chip damage, CAVO turns tail

Sky-Mobi Limted (Nasdaq: MOBI) shares soared 12.9 percent to $7.11, on volume of 841,098 shares, just surpassing its daily average of 628,691, on announcing that MOBI and Tencent, one of China’s most popular Internet portals, have formed a strategic partnership.

Intel Inc. (Nasdaq: INTC) was very popular Monday, dealing in 62.7 million shares, beating out its daily volume of 55.2 million. Prices dipped 1.4 percent to $21.15, on news that a design error in one of its chips will cost it $1 billion in missed sales and expenses to fix the flaw.

Cavico Corp. (Nasdaq: CAVO) shares slid 9.7 percent to $1.95 on volume of 175,517 shares, besting its daily average of 108,116.
