NTES shows knack, BAC backtracks, JACK shows cracks

NetEase.com Inc. (Nasdaq: NTES) U.S.-listed shares rose 7.2% to $45.95, on share volume of 1.9 million, nearly triple its full-day average, after the Chinese provider of online games reported a fourth-quarter profit that beat Wall Street estimates late Wednesday.

Bank of America Corporation (NYSE: BAC) traded in 51.9 million shares before noon ET Thursday, catching up on an all-day average of 186.7 million. BAC prices dropped 1.9%, though, to $13.90.

Jack in the Box Inc. (Nasdaq: JACK) shares fell 5.8% to $21.95, on volume of 614,000, already outdistancing its daily average of around 541,000, a day after the fast-food chain reported its quarterly results and updated guidance for the year.

ETM beaming, UNG strong volume, YOKU stumbles

Entercom Communications Corp. (NYSE: ETM) vaulted 10.16 percent in price Thursday to close at $10.30. Volume of 203,323 shares outdid its daily average of 158,803 shares. Entercom Communications Corp. is one of the five largest radio broadcasting companies in the United States, with a nationwide portfolio in excess of 100 stations in 23 markets.

United States Natural Gas Fund (NYSEArca: UNG) was a volume leader Thursday, trading in 48,552,547 shares, doubling its daily average of 24,676,700. Share prices for UNG eased 4.85 percent to $5.54.

Youku.com Inc. (NYSE: YOKU) fell 9.31 percent Thursday to close at $30.20, on volume of 5,865,290 shares, just better than half its daily average. YOKU is a leading Chinese Internet television company.

BSQR rises, DYN does record business, GNI loses strength

BSQUARE Corp. (NasdaqGM: BSQR) rallied 15.85 percent Wednesday afternoon to $8.04. Volume of 580,241 shares proved more than six times its full-day average. BSQR, based in Bellevue, Wash., announced that China Mobile Communications Corporation, the world’s largest mobile operator with over 200 million subscribers, has selected TestQuest Countdown, an automated testing solution from BSQUARE, to automate remote data services testing in all thirty-one of the operator’s provincial operating subsidiaries.

Dynegy Inc. (NYSE: DYN) traded widely Wednesday afternoon, dealing in 43,314,680 shares, better than six times its full-day average. Share prices improved 3.49 per cent, to $5.64. The Houston-based DYN has unanimously approved a definitive agreement to be acquired by Icahn Enterprises L.P. in a tender offer followed by a merger for $5.50 per share in cash, or approximately $665 million

Great Northern Iron Ore Properties (NYSE: GNI) fell 10.30 percent in Wednesday afternoon trading to $128.40. Volume of 29,887 shares trumped its full-day average of 7,751.

EK in the picture, WFC opens vault, GAGA goes down

Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK) jumped 11.64 percent to $5.32. Volume in the stock was 34,437,094 shares, or greater than six times normal share volume.

Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) proved one of the main stocks for volume Thursday, trading in 38,037,913 shares, fairly consistent with its daily average. WFC prices gained a healthy 2.38 percent to $30.07. WFC, based in San Francisco, announced Thursday it has introduced an ATM Cash Tracker service to help customers manage their finances.

Le Gaga Holdings Limited (NasdaqGS: GAGA) was one of the biggest losers on the markets Thursday, dropping 18.53 percent to close at $7.30. Volume ahead of the bell was 510,739 shares, shy of its average of 711,511. The Hong Kong-based GAGA is one of the largest greenhouse vegetable producers in China as measured by the area of greenhouse coverage and one of the fastest growing major vegetable producers in China.

YOKU moves skyward, INTC busy, GRB skids

YOUKU.COM (NYSE: YOKU) grew 27.72 percent in price Thursday afternoon to $42.71. Volume of 14,547,545 shares is catching up on its daily average of 16.94 million. The Chinese Internet television company celebrated its IPO Wednesday.

Intel Corporation (NasdaqGS: INTC) traded in 44,197,894 shares, to make it among the volume leaders early Thursday afternoon, catching up on its daily average of 60,330,900. Share prices were flat at $21.82.

Gerber Scientific Inc. (NYSE: GRB) fell in price 21.29 percent Thursday to $6.69, on volume of 63,726 shares, slightly more than its normal full-day average. The Connecticut-based Gerber reported revenue increased 9.0% to $129.3 million from $118.7 million. Gross profit was $38.6 million or 29.9% of sales versus $35.2 million or 29.7% of sales.
